Is this the most underwhelming numbered card since Poirier vs Holloway or what? Even the next Fight Night has more compelling matchups.
Also, how is Joe Pyfer not on a numbered Philly card?

Tbh I think Ian is his toughest matchup to date. Anything can happen but I think Ian is a live dog in this one.

Very underwhelming card.
The few articles I've read are hyping Garry up like he has a chance and it's Islams toughest matchup yet. Definitely not his toughest matchup unless you're just meaning Welterweight. Welterweight division overall is pretty underwhelming right now.

Islam seems more durable than Shavkat is and in my opinion better striker, more explosive/athletic, and better wrestler. If we did this on paper and mma math than Islam should win easily if he’s completely healthy.

I would think so, he's looked pretty filthy. Such a fun division.
This punch on Tatsuro might be one of the best punches ever thrown in the UFC. Tatsuro literally flew backwards like it was a punch out of a video game. All of us watching the fight jumped up off the couch when he threw it.

Could Islam lose to someone this insufferable?
What is wrong with Ian Machado Garry? The time he tried acting buddy-buddy with Khamzat and Khamzat lashed out at him. Trying to act cool with Prates in the crowd since their fight. Trying to pray with Prates after Prates nearly beat him. Taking his wife's ex-husband's surname. And letting him live in the same house with him and Layla apparently?
Always trying to act kumbaya with everybody in a world filled with killers.
Islam got asked about Abdulmanap and Ian tried to interrupt Islam and answer the question for him:

I would have to think so if the UFC doesn’t coerce him into fighting a title eliminator first.
However, Temirov just delivered a star-making performance, so the UFC may be ready to give him the big push very soon.

I just don’t see it with Ian. Great wrestling but not a threat at all on the feet. Islam is a stand-up threat—especially with the added weight—and has elite wrestling. If Islam isn’t having success in one area, he’ll just transition to the other. I’m predicting an easy for Islam.

Van getting Pantoja angry. Maybe not a good idea to give Pantoja extra motivation, but Van must feel confident he can back it up.

I’m not a flyweight fan but this is my most hyped fight for ne so far this year. Evenly matched, nice story, bad blood. That said, I think Van takes it.

It's gonna be interesting. It's kind of a pivotal fight for Pantoja actually. He either re-establishes dominance, or--maybe he already burned through his instant rematch with the injury, so he might have to get back in line in the division.
I read about the injury, I thought he snapped something in two, but it turns out it was a dislocated elbow. A lot of people saying Pantoja still might never be the same in terms of being able to trust his elbow / trust that it won't happen again, but it seems like it could have been a lot worse.
Tatsuro had a lot of success against Van, Pantoja was watching that fight. I think the plan will be the same as always, get Van to the ground and make him suffer.
I guess Pantoja beat Kape in 2021, Kape's UFC debut.
