I know why Jones does it, I've wrestled enough black guys to know that some of them have a habit of pawing at your face trying to keep distance to shoot takedowns. White dudes do it too but guys with a quickness advantage benefit from not being tied up close.
Gane was doing the same thing, trying to keep distance by pushing Aspinall in the face.
