He’s honestly a one trick pony. He’d get dominated there on the ground as well.

I like O’Malley cause he’s exciting with his knockouts, but the high level fighters aren’t going to play that game.

they pushed O'Malley up to the top way too fast because he was marketable and exciting knockouts. They should have worked him up slower and he'd be a much better fighter.

France?

You act as if he's some scrub that ko's people from time to time. Yes merab is a different animal. The fact that max lost to illa doesn't make him less of a dawg

Sean O'Malley trying to turn into a good guy is super weird. Nobody cares if you act nice. Go get better at fighting.

Merab would be like a 4-5 yr reigning champ if he hadn't always refused to fight Aljo. Don't see anyone debating him anytime soon. Umar is his only real competition in the division.

You might be right, but he’s never been a complete fighter. You can have a training camp focused on grappling and wrestling, but you either have it or you don’t.

The lower weight divisions are dominated by the guys that were raised grappling and wrestling with hyper cardio.

It’s just a different game for these guys.

He’s going to maul sandman too. Sandhagen already got fricked up by Umar who Merab beat at his own game

If Merab gets you on the ground, game over.

Merab dominated Henry Cejudo on the ground. If he does that, There's basically nobody alive at 135 lbs who is going to be able to stop his takedowns right now. He's a gigantic problem for anybody.

I’ve been more and more impressed with him every fight. Tonight was REALLY impressive especially if he can start finishing people. Dvalishvili Is becoming a “can’t miss his next fight” type of fighter. Combat sambo with action and relentlessness.

He’s not ‘boring’ like some of those other Dagestan fighters can tend to be (even though they’re elite AF). I like him a lot. I won’t miss any of his fights going forward.

I felt like that was a pretty good card.

Usman-Buckley up next Saturday.

Two weeks after that, Topuria-Charles.

We ridin'.

Merab's win streak. Holy shite when you look at the last 6 fights on paper.

5 former champions and 1 who would be a champ at almost any other time.

Just made it back from the movie theater watching the card. Was a lot of fun. About 18-20 people in attendance. Probably half were couples. The audio was so much more enjoyable than watching at home, obviously. I could hear every word of Holland's shite talking, and the corners were more discernable as well. The tension in the theater became palpable for Pena-Harrison, which was cool for a women's fight. The place erupted into applause and cheers when Harrison subbed Pena. Already on a high, the place lost its collecive shite when Nunes entered the octagon. That continued for the Merab fight. Everyone was on edge until the end. Props to the loner sitting next to us. My wife was bored to tears, so that'll probably be me next time. I'm definitely doing it again for 317.

As for the fight, this could be a big turning point for Holland if he gives welterweight the serious Sean O'Mally treatment. Harrison-Nunes is the fight that the UFC women's divisions and Harrison-Nunes desperately needed. I don't know that either women will be able to fight much longer at bantamweight. And, even in a loss, I was impressed by O'Malley's improvement. I discounted him from the division, but I think he sticks around and plants a flag in the top 5. No one else is challening Merab in that division anytime soon.
