its just not the type of performance I think should get you a title shot. a dude that was 1-3 going into the fight. having an arena full of people booing.. just not good look when you are talking about fighting to the death and all of that bs. IMO of course. chimaev getting it made more sense after his performance imo.

I can't see Khamzat getting a title shot until he can actually travel internationally. The UFC isn't going to hold every MW title Fight in Abu Dhabi.
Khamzat is too unreliable to hold a belt and Dana know that, regardless of how talented or deserving he is.

Looks like Holly Holm is out of the UFC. Saw a video saying she asked the UFC to be released from her contract and they agreed. Says she wants to keep fighting. She's 43, multiple belts across sports, Hall of Fame career, she needs to retire and enjoy life. I think she got divorced a few years ago. Maybe she's struggling to find an identity outside of fighting. Wonder if continuing to fight put a strain on her marriage.

UFC timed it perfectly. PFL closed up bellator and all of the top bellator fighters are asking out of their contract. Pitbull has been very public about it and used Holm as an example that he shouldnt be held hostage and PFL let him go with no strings attached.

I thought about it because the card is so good but LA isn’t very appealing to me.
Btw the press conference was one of the better ones in a while. Merab seemed a lot smaller and he seemed a little shook up also.

Highly recommend the press conference. Jiri shaved his head as a show of support to a fan that has cancer. He has a big social media following and pledged about $50k as a donation. I assume it was for that girl, but maybe it was for a cancer organization. He mentioned this at the presser and Dana immediately said he would match it.
