Ortega is a count, watching embedded dude looked nowhere near ready to come into this fight. Didn’t see him hit a single thing. A whole lot of sitting around looking exhausted, did some pushups, and eating way too much shite that he shouldn’t be when he’s cutting

So what happened to Ortega? I know he said frick cutting weight for the fight, but I thought they settled on a purse penalty and raised the weight class for the bout.

Ortega had stopping cutting early, they changed the weight to 155 since he wasn’t going to make weight. UFC was ok with that since the fight came together on short notice.

Beside the nice paycheck, he probably also watched Pereira earn a shitload of goodwill among the UFC and the fanbase, which all made it an easy decision.

Good crowd and vibe so far, they def booed the Ortega announcement but for sure a fun beer drinking time. Last few fights have been solid as well.
