Have to wonder if we'll ever see Gaethje vs. Islam now.

I can see it happening. Gaethje is a war daddy. He’s still ranked in the top 3. Had his nose not gotten smashed in that first round who knows what happened. I think he comes back from this and gets his shot. By then Islam will probably be on a 15 fight win streak.

I hope we don’t get Gaethje-Islam. Gaethje looked his worst ever against Khabib and I don’t think it will be much different against Islam. I’d like to see somebody more well rounded get a shot

Side note: Dublin presser today postponed. Conor probably to hungover lol

Looking forward to Whitaker-Chimaev in Saudi in 3 weeks

His threat of the takedown allows him to strike better.

That's the thing even a lot of really knowledgeable fighters seem to miss about guys like Islam and Khabib. I don't think they are scrubs on their feet by any means. Are they so good that they could strike their way to being champions? I really doubt it.

Figured out why diat was so quiet during this fight thread.

Haha that was a good one. Some people can’t handle a little testosterone in the air.

I’ve trained with a guy who met him at AKA. Said Khabib is deeply religious and super humble. All about working hard at whatever he’s doing. Said the strength when he grabs you is just different. Even just shaking his hand you can tell.

Looks super dangerous to be fighting up in the rafters like that. Seems like you could easily tumble over the railing or get thrown to a precipitous fall.

Islam confirmed that he had staph in training camp. Many noticed that he didn't throw any leg kicks and didn't look quite himself, also that he was slowing down by round three. Staph is pretty rough, this makes the win even more impressive.

looks like this mcgregor chandler fight is gonna probably be cancelled. ufc took down full fight videos that they had put up to market the fight like they usually do.

poor chandler, threw away a big portion of his career chasing that fight.

that whole situation is such a weird dynamic with the ufc and mcgregor. obviously he is a big moneymaker and all of that, but imo its time for the ufc to move away from guys that arent active like jones and mcgregor and focus on building stars within the sport that want to fight. also will be interesting to see what mcrgegor does with ownership in BKFC. I like BKFC but imo until they can grow talent and not rely on name value from old ufc fighters they wont be able to grow the sport into a competitor for young talent like the ufc.

It’s been a weird situation for sure. There’s been almost no hype leading up to the fight and it’s only 3 weeks away. Haven’t seen any training videos of Conor or any shite talk or anything. It’s almost like he’s just planning on walking into this fight with no camp and no preparation. As probably the biggest Conor fan on this site, it’s dissapointing as shite. Was hoping he’d get that fire back for 1 or 2 more fights but dosent look like that’s happening

Weighing In guys saying they've heard Conor wants to extend camp and can't get off the booze and drugs and get his weight back down after all the roids and vices.

Could Chandler fight someone else if Conor drops out? Who would be ready to go versus Chandler?

I guess Chandler would be caught in between weight classes. Is there anyone else he'd fight at welterweight? Could he make the cut to lightweight in 3 weeks? And who would he fight at lightweight if he could?

I’m so sick of waiting for Conor and Jon Jones… I get they’re cash cows for the ufc, but it’s time to move on

Maybe they'll move Khamzat vs. Whittaker to 303. Khamzat might be against moving the fight out of Saudi Arabia, though.

Pavlovich vs. Volkov could also be moved to 303. Or maybe they'll just become the main event for that Fight Night if Khamzat vs. Whittaker gets rescheduled for 303.

Lots of rumors Khamzat cannot leave the Middle East and/or enter the US. He hasn't fought outside of UAE or Saudi for over a year.

Uncle Chael says Chandler should get a title shot if the Conor fight blows up. Dude lost 2 years of income and fights and he was already in his mid 30s. That 155 weight cut for him is also extremely difficult and will only get harder the older he gets.

Dana banking on Jones or Conor at this stage is just moronic.

The 303 card without Conor/Chandler is absolute dogshit.

The big problem with doing business with Conor is that he costs so much they can’t stack the card. So now they are totally fricked 3 weeks out from what is supposed to be international fight week with egg on their face. Not to mention the fans that bought way inflated ticket prices to see Conor. Thats how you lose fans. The 302 prices were like a 1/4 of the 303 prices because of conor.

Its also why I didn’t buy tickets. I know conor has a lot of bullshite and the tickets were outrageous.

Damn... Didn't know he could pull that much from Dana. No wonder the rest of the card is shite.

Trash Can Jamahal Hill ain't gonna save it.
