The replay from the back you can see Jiris arms go limp then he falls back

I saw from the slow mo that Jiri tried to grab Pereira’s leg and pick him up while Alex was landing those elbows. Jodi’s body suddenly went limped and that why he fell backward, enabling Pereira to end up in the full mountS.

From watching this event does there appear to be any backlash on UFC about BudLight?

Lately I've seen some youtube videos saying people are in a mini revolt over the BudLight stuff. I didn't remember them being a sponsor from the past, so it clearly didn't have any effect on the broadcasts. Nevertheless, some videos have claimed this, so I'm curious if it materializes. I think people will / have stopped buying the beer, but I don't think they'll punish the UFC.

I mean I imagine most people see it for what it is, but light trying to save face and shelling out a significant overpay. UFC never convinced me to buy modelo with all their years of advertising, and this is no different. The advertisements for large corporations is stupid in my mind anyways, does that entice anyone? Where I do see benefit is the stuff people haven’t been exposed to before but see for the first time which draws intrigue. I went and googled the “sweet sweat” after watching a UFC broadcast and seeing the branding

I don't get it. Izzy has basically said he isn't fighting for a while and taking time off.

Also, why would he go to 205 when he already did that before and got handily defeated by Jan. Alex at 205 is also an entirely different guy than than at 185, where he was severely depleted.

Izzy won’t step up to 205 to fight Alex but it’s still a funny call out. I think Pereira was just trolling him.

That was part of the pitch, Pereira said he was sitting on his arse in a bar and Adesanya pulled him out of it. He said it was a waste of Adesanya’s great talent to be doing the same and to come fight at LHW for the title.

It’s that two belt dream many fighters have now

Yeah, just based on the crowd noise when the fight was called, you can tell that it felt a bit premature. Kind of a muted / disappointed reaction noise. The bloodlust of the crowd was not sated.

On the other hand, Jiri was only able to roll out and look ready to defend because Goddard stopped it when he did. If he hadn't, Jiri's arms had dropped, and he wouldn't have been able to stop Pereira from punching his head off the mat. Do we want to see a defenseless fighter getting hit with power that's like being kicked in the face by a horse? That's what was about to happen.

I haven't seen enough of Jamahal Hill's fights to know--can he beat Pereira? Hill said in an interview after the fight that he doesn't think Jiri or Pereira are on his level. Pretty bold words, like I said I haven't seen enough of him to know whether he can back that statement up.

Man I wish Hill wouldn’t have torn his Achilles. Him back Pereira would be an epic fight. I’m assuming he won’t be back until summer though

I feel like the 205 and 265 weight classes (outside of jones) is the weakest 2 classes in all the ufc. Jon jones at 205 likely smokes both of those guys.
