Yeah I am seeing a lot of stupidity pointing out Connor’s guillotine.

This.

He fell back for the guillotine with zero control of the body in guard. Literally day 1 stuff.

Correct. It’s not like he jumped on that leg. He stepped. A leg doesn’t break like that from simply stepping on it.

He said that Khabib easily got out because he is ridiculously strong.
Khabib really is the GOAT in my eyes.

Because Khabib is/was a 170 fighter fighting at 155. His base is much more similar to Gilbert Burns than someone like Gaethje, Porier, McGregor, Oliveira etc.

im good. no fights on the way out like for the khabib conor fight. about to go back and watch post fight interviews but from my vantage point dustin just finished conor off. I dont see him coming back from that. he got dominated and did nothing, much worse than last fight. Ill have to listen to both interviews but it seemed that conor looked pretty petty on the floor talking shite about the mans wife after he just got hurt and peeled out on a stretcher.

Burns vs Edwards should be next up at 170

The real contradiction tonight in my opinion is why people believe the O’Malley was stopped too soon.

People complain when a fight is stopped too late, and then complained about that shite. He had absolutely no chance of winning that fight in those last 20-30 seconds. Why was calling that fight the wrong decision? If anything it possibly took a KO away from O’Malley.

Fact is Conor is surrounded by yes men now, should have ditched his coach and trainers after the Khabib fight.

thats a great point. poirier is in a top level gym with a slew of top level mma fighters to practice with. conor doesnt even have artem anymore.

Connor’s big chance against Dustin was to come out guns blazing and hurt dustin early and try and finish.

If you watch that exchange before the Connor grabbed Dustin, Dustin was getting in some shots. Connor was hurt and became desperate.

What football and basketball games are you watching where guys are taking a step backwards, and their shins fold like that "all the time"?

We're not talking about someone rolling their ankle, or going airborne and landing wrong here.

It’s quite the combo that has led to his decline. I still think he has some of the best raw talent to win a large majority of fights, but it’s clear he hasn’t evolved as a fighter in quite some time.

The era of the Mayfeather fight and Khabib loss (which he faired great compared to other Khabib victim), wasted so many good years of his potential.

He really hasn’t fought much at all. That shite adds up. Especially when you see the growth of guys like Stylebender, Usman, Moreno, and Francis in that same timeframe. Hell, I feel like Usman and Stylebender fight all the time.

A Conor / Trevor Whitman combo would have been amazing to watch.

Yeah i'm not sure why people are upset that they didn't get to see the kid get his face brutally beat for another 30 seconds, the fight was over.

I cant even remember seeing a guy get hit anywhere close to that much and keep moving forward the entire fight…….. a rocky movie maybe, but not a real fight. I did not think the guy was hurt enough for stoppage at that exact point in time of the fight, but its the cumulative damage he had taken that Easily justifies the stoppage imo

I felt before the fight if it got past the first round Dustin would be a huge favorite. Dustin did much better in that first round than I was expecting.

I agree but I think Poirier is bigger like Khabib and Burns.
That’s why I said earlier that McGregor should drop down a division. Those bigger 155’ers are just too strong for frames like McGregor. Poirier looked way bigger than McGregor tonight.

The only way I can justify it is that they were Both still extremely angry with one another and the adrenaline gone away. Or Conor is just a bitch and knew Dustin couldn’t do anything to him regardless of what he said.

I want to believe my first thought. They had both been looking forward to beating the shite out of each other all week, and we’re promised they could. They weren’t allowed to settle it because of a freak accident.

McGregor is weird. He looked so unhealthy at 145, but yes, these 155ers are obviously too much for him.

conor is done... this is the first time he has taken a loss like this and acted like an angry child. dustin has just evolved and is the better more proven fighter. while conor was out dustin was fighting and beating the best of the best outside of khabib at 155. Thats no knock on conor, I think pretty much any fighter would love to be in his situation.

2 Judges did indeed have it 10-8, not everyone.

Compared to the other fights we had seen tonight with no 10-8's that is absolutely fricking insanity
