Lol if you think he lost that 2nd fight to Diaz i want some of what you’re smoking.

it was relatively close, but the UFC without a doubt stepped in and influenced the judges decision that night. McGregor losing back to back would have been catastrophic for their PPV business at the time...

the stats don't lie. Diaz won that fight.

I had Diaz winning both fights but I understand why they gave the second to Conor.

Ufc doesn’t control the judges. I thought it was even going into the 5th and Conor won the 5th.

Conor lost the 5th round on significant strikes by almost a two to one count

Perhaps I didn’t remember the exact scenario because I was drunk in a hotel bar In Portland Maine but the public and the media agreed that mcgregor won. Mcgregor pieced Diaz up in the first fight until he gassed out in the first fight also.

In your graphic Conor lands a higher percentage of strikes and knocked Diaz down 3 times are you saying Diaz win because of his one takedown and because he threw a higher number of strikes? It’s close but the 3 knockdowns gives Conor the win

conor won rounds 1, 2 and 4. diaz starting coming on in the last minute or so of the second, but all he did was keep it from being a 10-8.

all three judge had conor winning 3 rounds, but one gave diaz a 10-8, prolly the third.

it was a great fight and under onefc type judging i could see an argument for diaz.

I just rewatched it. Conor absolutely won 1, 2 and 4 I don’t see how anybody could argue otherwise. He looked like he was done coming into the 3rd but somehow caught a 2nd wind and pieced Nate up in the 4th. Nates a tough SOB, I forgot how many leg kicks Conor landed and they didn’t seem to even phase Nate. Most would have barely been able to stand after how many times that leg was peppered in the first round

How about showing the round by round stats? That will better show who actually won the fight.

People like to talk shite on Conor and I get it.... but the dude lost to Dustin who is one of the best to ever do it. Khabib, one of the best ever, and Diaz, a dude that is much bigger than him and one of the toughest dudes in the sport. Dude didn’t make any excuses and ran it back everything the same and got the win back. He didn’t have to take the Dustin fight knowing Dustin was the best guy in the division outside of Khabib. Gotta give the guy some credit he is a warrior.

I agree diat. Say what you want about Connor but he’s game AF in the Octagon. I think he wins this rematch.

Connor is definitely a competitor but he just isn’t improving at the rate of the division and it’s understandable. Their bank accounts aren’t improving at the rate his is either ...

I don’t know man. He fought Khabib as well as anyone, and he had also fought well against Dustin and I thought he had him hurt pretty bad in their fight. He destroyed cowboy and made quick work of him. I just have a hard time holding a loss to Khabib or Dustin against him. Let’s see how this Dustin fight plays out. If he wins he is right back in the picture and will be fighting Oliviera which I think is a good matchup for him.

Btw I want to see chandler gaethje next. Both guys coming off a title loss and both have a come forward style. Would be a great fight.

Agreed. Conor is a great fighter, he's just not the force he was at 145, but still one of the best ever at 145/155.

All things considered, as long as he can stay away from any major frickups moving forward, he's the most successful MMA fighter ever.
