That's funny, cause he has come across as kinda gay to me in the build-up to this fight.

Really curious to see the PPV numbers on this. UFC 193 looks to be 2nd all time with 1.1 mil and change PPV buys and wasn't nearly promoted as this one. I got to think this one was 1.3 mil buys.

are you saying he doesn't like to trade shots??

he's a great wrestler but he doesn't back down from standing up.

Yes, he is the biggest dancing in and out point fighting striker and wrestler (ten seconds left in the round takedown with no damage) alive. Because he got hit in the head by Maynard a couple times doesn't make him some toe to toe banger.

Are you still a Frankie hater? Dude has definitely grown on me, and I'm a big fan now. No way is he a point fighter....dude goes for the finish.

Negative. I don't really believe any of those figures anyways. I read somewhere that it's expected to beat 193, but it didn't seem to get the buzz or promotion that 193 got.

this.

too much overexposure, too many advancements in streaming between July and December. Periscope wasn't as known, there's a lot more streaming, less restaurants and bars willing to pay the fees to show the fights.

The hype for this wasn't quite the same, lots of people were like fool me once...

Even in the embedded series the energy seemed to not be at the same level. I mean I'm as hooked as ever on MMA but I sorta zoned out for a few months.

UFC has done a good job not to go up against football. All of their shows were overseas in the fall, they didn't do this 3 nights of fights until the conference championships were done and there was a lull before the bowl games started up.

They've gotten really smart on when, how, where to maximize gates and viewership.

They absolutely are IMO

On Saturdays when LSU plays at 7 or so the UFC takes a back seat, especially in a close game. This is coming from a huge mma fan.

This has been the longest promoted fight in UFC history. Mainly because Aldo got hurt and extended the hype of this fight.

The embedded series was the 2nd set. They did all this for the first time they were supposed to fight. When they were supposed to fight the first time they had spent the most money ever promoting that fight.

Buyrate might be close to 193; but it's not touching 100.. now UFC 200 is going to do scary numbers.

Yeah, they promoted the hell out of the fight in July (world tour and all), but not so much this second time around. Rousey fight had way more buzz going into it. More people talking about it, bars more packed, etc. At least it seemed that way from my perspective. While Rousey is a bigger name and star right now, 194 was the much better mma card, so I have no clue which will do better numbers.

You think? I could see Conor v Franky in Ireland in April and Cerrone v Conor at UFC 200.

John Kavanaugh said he wanted Conor to take a break from 145.. outcome of Saturday night will have a lot to do with who McGregor fights next

Yeah it is still just a few markets and its probably not that big a crossover in terms of fans. It is virtually insignificant

Everybody competes for eyeballs. All entertainment competes against each other and from September to Thanksgiving weekend college football reigns supreme on Saturdays.

SEC stadiums outsell NFL stadiums with fanbases that have tighter connections and are far more loyal. Nothing touches college football in scope and reach. NFL has a little better distribution and makes a bit more money for their product but no NFL team is regularly putting 100,000 people in seats on gameday.
