His knockout power was all they talked about, similar to Hendricks. He knocked out Matt Hughes. I'd consider him a wrestler first and a striker second.

No it wasn't. They focused on him changing camps and being part of a team. Focusing more on his standup.

Entering their last fight, koschek had won 40% by decision and 33% by submission. No one in their right mind... People like you... Would hype koschek's KO power. Wrestler, submission, cardio, clench, leg kicks, then maybe power in his hands.

Johnny has maybe the best one punch ever in the division and he was national champion in wrestling. But untested in a 3-5 round dog fight with an equal wrestler.

Please don't try to back up a losing argument with poor memories supplanted as fact.

You're right. Joe and Goldie weren't hyping Koscheck's knockout power during the entire buildup to their fight. I completely made that up in my head.

the commercials for Okami vs Anderson Silva called Okami a "knockout artist." What are they going to say, "pay $49.95 to watch the champ versus a blanket?"

comparing Koscheck's power to Hendricks makes you look dumb

It was more of a comparison to their wrestling skill. People say Hendricks has the wrestling to hold his own against GSP. I highly doubt it. Koscheck is/was arguably the best wrestler in the division and GSP took him down whenever he felt like it. Hendricks is small and his legs are short, I doubt GSP will have much trouble getting double leg takedowns against him. I know I sound like I make GSP out to be unbeatable, but he's literally good at everything. The only thing he hasn't done recently is finish fights. He wins stand up exchanges, he wins the ground, he wins the clinch, and you can't keep him on his back. I honestly can't see anyone in this division beating him while he's in his prime. GSP isn't even my favorite fighter, but he's without a doubt the most technically perfect fighter I've ever seen.

Kos is not a striker. He's a great wrestler who happens to generate a lot of power when he throws his right hand all the way from his arse.

Yeah Hendricks probably can't defend a double leg.

I don't think anyone really believes Hendricks is going to win the wrestling department, despite his credentials. But, he poses the biggest threat at 170 because he can stop some takedowns and force Georges to fight on his feet, which he has been deathly afraid of since the Serra KO (tap to strikes). GSP will likely pick him apart but one Hendricks punch and it could be lights out. GSP doesn't want to strike with anyone (besides Shields and Kos) for even 5 seconds until its round 3 and they are worn out and can't hold their arms up anymore.

You know going in to Diaz or Condit, GSP is going to hump them do death since they are too skinny and weak to stop it. Hendricks is a grown man who can at least make the outcome somewhat in doubt. GSP didn't pretend to get mad at Diaz for any reason other than to avoid Hendricks and A. Silva.

He is going to jab the shite out of Hendricks, like he did Kos.

GSP's handlers programmed him to be angry.

Diaz has retired like 5 times already. Win or lose he virtually says the same shite every time.

While that may be true. How often does Nick Diaz get whitewashed 5-zip by rounds, or how often has he fought a fight where he literally never had any momentum at any juncture of the fight, despite landing a few shots that were immediately responded to by trading shots, clinch, and/or takedown.

And he sure seemed discouraged and talking retirement afterwards..not that the postfight Condit cab ride and ducking that presser, weren't much the same story.

True, but he has to see Hendricks, Condit, GSP with something left if chooses to stick around, etc..it appears he's genuinely discouraged over ever possibly reigning over this current field..has too much pride and money to wanna be a gatekeeper.

how often does the guy who gets completely dominated from start to finish for 25 minutes, and is on the bottom for probably 15+ of that, have less punishment on his face than the guy who dominated him? And Diaz cuts like Ric Flair if you touch his skin.

GSP is as dominant as anyone in mma history (as in dominating a fight/fighter/division not actual fighting/hurting people), but geez he is setting the sport back 20 years with his caution.

The reason Hendricks will get taken down is BECAUSE of his powerful left hand. It is so powerful because he swings it from so far back.

GSP's takedowns are so successful because of his timing. Right when Hendricks loads up his left hand, GSP will put him on his arse, rendering his power useless.

And Hendricks isn't going to be technically superior than GSP on the feet.

The only chance Hendricks has is the big knockout, but his big left hand will make it easy for GSP to take him down.

GSP wins easy.

Reminds me a bit of Bernard Hopkins in boxing. Hopefully, GSP doesn't fight until he's 50 with this boring style.

Some people bruise easier than others. GSP is one of those people who get brush burns all over his face from nothing. He always gets a cut on the bridge of his nose.

Nick Diaz also had surgery to remove the scar tissue around his eyes, so he doesn't cut as easily anymore.

Max, are you not entertained? You remind me of Maximus the movie character.

Does Nick Saban ever really allow title opponents are puncher's chance? Did Wooden? Auerbach? 1920s and 1930s Yankees? etc..

You know what's forthcoming, find a way to stop it, best it..otherwise..you lose.
