i think the heavyweight season is where it truly donned the leather jacket and put the skis on.
rampage was in no shape to be taking on a fighter like rashad. it was the start of setting up rashad with joke fights. wes sims was only put on that show as a joke, kimbo was an embarassing contestant, and dana knew all of this as this was the first season in a few to not have elimination fights at the beginning. the cast was picked based on personality and this would have been shown had their been an elimination fight.
even though schaub, mittrione, and nelson were legitimate fighters down the road, they would have found their way in with the heavyweight class being so thin at that time.
