I was hoping Aoki would've won, wanted to see him face Chandler (don't know who he's facing next now). Bellator & UFC LW divisions are pretty stacked

I love Aoki, but let's not kid ourselves. He is a specialists (an insanely awesome one), but all of his losses end in the same way. He does not like punishment. As soon as someone starts landing on him, he rolls over and turtles up. We've seen it against Hansen, Sakurai, Nakao, Nagashima, and now Alvarez. Alvarez has the skill set to transition and be successful in the UFC. He just has a tendency to get into brawls and get rocked. It cost him in the Chandler fight and almost cost him against Kawajiri.

Those are 4 very interesting fights. Everyone says MW division sucks, but all 4 of those guys could easily contend for that MW belt eventually.....

It sounds like GSP might move up to MW soon to avoid fighting Rory McDonald.

good luck with that. GSP wants no part of MW. I saw Rory saying that about being champ in 1-2 years on the Countdown but I think you'll have a much better chance seeing a Jones/Evans remix than GSP moving up. Rory also needs to hit the proactiv so his juicing isn't quite so obvious at least.

His last fight against Maia was pretty terrible cause both guys gassed early. Dude is a great wrestler though and has really improved his stand-up. I know I'm getting waayy ahead of myself, but I could see a guy like him pulling a GSP and simply grinding out win after win. Dude could hold the belt for a while if he keeps improving and plays it smart.

Thats funny you say that with both of them being at Tri Star, but on UFC Insider Rory said he could see himself being welterweight champion in the next 2 years or something like that. So maybe he knows something we dont. I know George has said he is better than himself at this stage in his career.
