Yeah, winner gets 10 unless a point is taken away for a foul, then there could be a 9-9.

10 point must system ... BUT, i believe a 9-9 score is possible if the fighter that wins the round is deducted a point ... kind of a hard scenario to imagine IMO though

The comment Diaz made at the end about how he thought he was up in the scores so he didn't finish the armbar was the biggest load of shite ever. The right side of Diaz's face looked like a donkey vagina and he claimed to throw the harder punches. Like Dana says "Don't leave it in the hands of the judges". Diaz did NOT win that fight.

I totally agree with you,but you never know what the judges see. Kinda like the koscheck fight. I thought pierce won but I could be bias because I can't stand koscheck

Most of condits strikes had ZERO intent to do damage. Not only that, but it would take 50 rounds for the cumulative effects of those "strikes" to have any seriousness. He threw many more strikes while not being an aggressor and landed possibly a few more but had a much lower percent of strikes landed than diaz. To me, condit ran away and didn't land half as many serious blows as diaz did. How in the he'll could someone give condit 4 rounds?

I disagree...condit ran like a bitch period. I am one who weighs heavily the willingness of a fighter to fight. Condit has NO chance against GSP....whereas Diaz actually did. Faggy little leg kicks that have no effect on a fighter. (and make no mistake, those kicks had NO effect on Diaz, should not weigh as heavily as strikes that are meaningful. ). Diaz is clearly the better fighter, the tougher fighter, and it is a joke that it went the way it did. Though if we are using olympic scoring, condit had an argument. Seriously, the far superior fighter was outpointed by a guy who ran for his life all night.

i gotta agree with lsucoonass ... diaz was unable to execute his gameplan while condit clearly executed his ... also, condit's strikes were MUCH more diverse and his combos were much better as well ... especially the punch/kick combos ... diaz had the better body/head/body punches .. but, i was thinking perhaps diaz was scored based on his previous fights (which isnt fair) ... but, dont leave it up to the judges

I think diaz was expecting condit to get tried from all the straight up running he was doing in there. NBK has amazing cardio and didnt slow until the last 2 minutes of fight. Diaz should have tried to clinch up more.

He couldn't cut him off like chuck was able to do because he had his leg chewed up from very early on. I remember after the first minute and thirty seconds thinking, "holy shite diaz's leg has got to hurt". He was landing hard leg shots allday.

Truer words may never be spoken. Can't really be angry at them as people, because of the money involved. However, it sucks as a fan.

It frustrates me even more when guys like jon jones who could be demolishing people on the feet straight up early if he threw combinations doesnt because it's much much safer to peck and throw in singles and keep distance.

:frustrating: but you really can't hate. I guess you just gotta learn to find some guy just executing his gameplan more entertaining

You can't leave it in the hands of the judges. Truer words were never spoken. Diaz lost the fight in the first 2 rounds. If he would have taken care of business instead of letting Condit gain confidence, then we would all be talking about the matchup with GSP...

i realize a lot of people think Condit was running .. if he was fighting any other fighter, i MIGHT agree ... but, that was prolly the fastest paced fight i can remember ... slipping out of a clinch or getting your back off of the cage isn't necessarily running ... and Condit didn't just counter punch either ... he was initiating some of the action ... especially after the scrambles

how well one of these guys can do against gsp has zero to do with what the outcome of this fight.

carlos landed an arse load of kicks
fricked diaz's mug up
and frustrated diaz like crazy

there isnt an argument for diaz except "carlos ran". well keeping distance is part of an effective strategy against diaz.

just because it makes for an ugly fight doesnt mean he didnt clearly win under the current rules for mma.

i thought diaz threw a LOT more power punches in this fight because he was unable to get off the flurries that he is used to hitting people with
