re: UFC 141: Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem - This **Friday** night

Overeem will train for his fight against JDS like it's a k1 match though. They are most likely both gonna stand and bang with each other and that's it. The only real difference might be some dirty boxing that can be employed in the clinch.

yuki nakai must be proud of both aoki and kitaoka
Aoki had Kitaoki in deep water a few times, but Kitaoki is a great grappler and defended every time. I was surprised they fought each other.

Is that only available on HDNET now, or are there other places to watch?

Lesnar was landing on Overeem
He landed 6 total strikes, LoL

If Lesnar landed 6, one of which cut him, you don't think JDS lands more meaningful shots?

2 of the strikes were kicks, I think the cut occurred when they were clinched up. I think y'all are trying to hard. Overeems game plan was clearly to get inside and hurt Brock's body. He was getting hit because he was constantly pressing forward to get in the clinch. The game plan for JDS will not be the same as the one for Brock or the one for Werdum.

I agree completely, and he was probably dropping his hands so much for shot attempts. I'm still not sold on Reem and maybe I'm just being stubborn. I never feel super confident about fight picking as so much can happen in the ring, and so much out of it that we never hear about, but I truly believe JDS ends Reem's American run. I would even take a healthy Cain against Reem. Maybe I'm completely missing the boat but thankfully we'll know for sure in a few months.

Aoki used superior grappling to win UD over Kitaoka (Aokis long time teammate),
That ending was wild. I'm pretty sure that Aoki was headbutting Kitaoka's knees.

In MMA anything can happen. I can see any of your top 5 fighters beating each other on any given day. Should be an interesting year

Right, I think the first time we see him taste HW power
Badr Hari beat the shite out of Overeem in 2009

And that was with big arse gloves.

Anyone who thinks there's a better striker in the heavyweight division than reem is crazy. The guy won the K1 grand prix against the best kickboxers in the world.
You can't do that in MMA with those little gloves. He didn't impress me with head movement, angles, footwork, or much of anything apart from his power.

Ok, I changed my mind. That is just what I remembered from when I watched it over a year ago.
I just went back and watched a few fights from the K-1 GP and he was pretty good..

AO is definitely not as smoothe as the rest of the field, but he used a lot of overwhelming aggression and great clinch work. He defended really well by covering up, then he'd unload.... Based on what I remember

You got to remember too that the fight was 2 1/2 minutes. The last 20 seconds was Lesnar's go to move, the box turtle.

It is an excellent tactic and it accomplished exactly it's intended result.

Looking back this might have been the most lopsided main card I have ever seen.
Try and do this,
Rank in order who looked most dominant
Here are you choices
Overeem,
Hettes,
Diaz,
Gustaffsson,
Hendricks,

Yes I know I put the two guys that didn't finish at the top. Diaz got the edge because his opponent was much tougher that Hettes' opponent.
