UF preseason #1 in Athlon

yeah yeah obviously, right? Defending NC and they return everyone, including Tebow and their whole 2-deep on defense. But do yall ultimately think they repeat this year? The trip to Baton Rouge in October seems like the toughest game on the schedule. They own the dawgs in Jacksonville, and I think that'll continue especially without Knowshon and Stafford. FSU should improve this year, but they are just not on UF's level. And they will destroy UT in gainesville.
Like I said before, if they were to trip up somewhere, it would be in TS, imo... even if they did, I don't think LSU/Bama/Ole Miss are gonna beat them in Atlanta. Ultimately, I think this team will roll through unscathed, 14-0 National Champs.

at LSU and the SEC CG are the only two obvious tests, but don't be surprised if they lose to Vandy sandwiched between UGA and Spurrier.

Ole Miss aint gonna be no cupcake this yr IMO.

I feel bad for whatever team gets lead to slaughter against them in the MNC. I'll feel REALLY bad if its OSU...

They won't be, but there are other factors that will prevent UF from losing that one...

Like last year, for instance.
They prolly aren't too happy with the outcome of that one.

of course they should be able to just simply out-talent them

I think they have less than a 50% chance of repeating, but I think they have more of a chance of winning the NC than anyone else.
They don't play Bama or Ole Miss in the regular season, I think UGA and the rest of the east will be average, and they will get a decent FSU team at home. Even if they trip up at LSU (or to someone else), if they win the SECCG with 1-loss there is a good chance that will be enough.

There's another reason why Florida prolly won't lose to Ole Miss this year.

And if history is any indication, Ole Miss' chances of playing in the SECCG aren't exactly good

Precisely.

I had to start this on the Rant.
This is a good subject to have more replies that are somewhat legit. you'll have the idiot that will post and say that it's impossible for LSU to beat Florida, but you know. As expected, the first 5 posts is that LSU will beat Florida. I just don't see it.
new DC.
still, a young QB.
How will the LB's perform?
Will Coleman bite on every little footstep Tebow takes?
meh.

Off on a tangent here, but why the M in MNC (national championship)? There is not woman's football, so what does the M stand for?

This florida team reminds me a lot of the 2005 unbeatable USC team.....and we all know what happened to them. And before anyone says they weren't as good as this UF team, take another look

But who's this year's Texas?
Posted on 6/4/09 at 10:41 am to Buckeye06
That USC team had a severe weakness in the secondary that was exacerbated by injuries and was super young at LB and still almost won a national title. This Florida team pretty much has no obvious holes, which is very rare

You mean play decent enough to be considered for the National Championship but eventually choke up somewhere get shut out like usual?
I'd say Texas.

Naw, he means who's a team that can step up and actually beat a team like Florida.

on paper they are obviously the #1 but everyone knows repeating is pretty much impossible in CFB.
