That stadium looks LEGIT, hopefully they get butts in the seats considering what a struggle that has been in the past

I believe Allen has the biggest at 18k. This is supposed to be 45k.

What a waste of $30 million. At least it'll be packed for the annual 7A State Championship that will eventually be played there.

Idk, maybe we should shut down there program because they could potentially be a threat to the University of Alabama and their football program.

I'm not pissed. I hope UAB does well. 45k seems like a lot of seats though.

Comparable programs

MTSU- 30k
Western Kentucky- 22k (overhauled 2009)
North Texas- 31k (built 2011)
Houston- 40k (built 2014)
Tulane- 30k (built 2014)

45k will make it one of the biggest G5 stadiums outside of teams with shared facilities like South Florida and UTSA.

$30 million isn't going to come close to building a stadium that big. Wonder what the actual cost is?

Count me as thinking this is a good thing. Legion Field sucks arse. You can move the Birmingham Bowl here and I think more people (not sell-outs, mind you) would go to UAB games rather than going to that shithole stadium and neighborhood at Legion Field.
