we are about to get into august and they are 7 games back on a team whose on pace to win 93 games. I mean it could happen, but I'm not counting on it

Still, they jays have played 100 games. Let's say the yankees hit a few snags and win 90 games instead of their 93 win pace. The Jays would need to go 41-21 to take first place. I'm not counting on it

Also don't forget that Toronto's pitching staff is terrible

Damn near August, the Yankees would have to do some pretty good choking.

Yeah, the Yanks are still huge AL East favorites. 7 games up at the beginning of August is a robust lead. This should swing the Jays wild card odds up a few percentage points though.

Hawkins is in RBI Baseball, one of the greatest games ever made.

they have a decent lead, but tons of games left. It's not like the Yanks aren't potentially combustible

Until Jays address pitching, I'm not worried and to land Tulo they gave up some good prospects. So may take them out of Price/Hamels/Yonvani deals

Move screams "going for it"

Wouldn't be surprised if the Jays aren't finished and go get a pitcher -- Tyson Ross or of the sorts.

I think Toronto needs David Price if they really want to win the AL this year.
