Minnesota had 9 wins the year before they hired Tubby.
How many NCAA tournament appearances did they make while he coached there?!

Jay Wright grew up in Philly and has only coached in Philly. He ended speculation about UK a few years ago as soon as his name came up. I doubt he was holding out for one of the worst jobs in the Big 10.

This is an absolutely a stupid thing to do on Minnesota's part. Who in the hell wants to go to Minnesota to coach basketball that is going to be better than a class guy like Tubby Smith!

I thought Howland got a bad deal, this is way worse. UCLA has won before, can't say the same for Minnesota. Maybe a final four or two under Clem Haskins. I hope they suck as much as they do in football.
