funny how people who dont watch ESPN know they talk about the WNBA lol

I never “cancelled” ESPN for political reasons. It’s programming outside of live sports is shite and has been for years. I do visit their website, and everything that’s been said about over the top coverage of the WNBA there is absolutely true. Same for the ticker during live sports.

This clip is a PERFECT example of your post:

A'ja Wilson SENT THIS shot from Napheesa Collier

You'd think Mutombo blasted this shot to the 56th row with the way SportCenter's account describes it

You could almost slide a credit card under the shoes of the one who blocked the shot. Almost.

This is a real article, not satire.

quote:

The WNBA has lasted longer than any previous women’s professional league, and outlasted “the league is falling” criticism. Yes, the WNBA has operated over the years in large part because of the NBA’s financial and marketing infrastructure. But you cannot overlook the WNBA’s true lifeblood – the fans.

WNBA fans are spirited and loyal sports enthusiasts that have supported the league from its inception. They inspire the players to perform at their highest level and are never afraid to speak up when league-wide improvements are warranted.

Most WNBA fans are older folks who miss fundamental basketball: dribbling the ball down the court, taking their time to set up a play and scoring against a structured defense.

Perhaps, older basketball fans have turned from the NBA to the WNBA because the true, original sport was only being played in the women’s league.

It’s clear that what the NBA lacks is thriving in the WNBA. What makes the WNBA better than the NBA is that the motive behind the women’s league is far more genuine and their fan base appreciates that. Their epicenter of athleticism and competition in basketball lies in the heart, respect and dedication of the game.

The amount of cognitive dissonance that goes on in journalism in covering the WNBA must be mentally exhausting having to be constantly obtuse.

you ever heard of opportunity cost?

A WNBA segment on Sportscenter,

Doesn't really cost them anything

or two hours of TV time for a game, costs them in terms of things that could do better ratings in those time periods

Well yeah, but they want the NBA. That's the cost of doing business. I already called that a sunk cost.

SFP and ESPN just want to sweep that under the rug

What are you talking about? I already called their WNBA costs both (1) overinflated and (2) a sunk cost.

I literally said opportunity cost. There’s only so much time on sportscenter
