Play Bama close and Destroy TAMU, and LSU might pass Clemson.

College football is so broken

We have people talking about last year and others talking about losses being the only thing that matters.

I know that’s what they would do, but why do we accept that?

I agree with you in general but ain’t nobody going against keeping out an undefeated defending champ accept for the team they keep out.

If YOU are ranking criteria do you put losses for teams in P5 conferences comes ahead of “strength of schedule”?

You should since SOS is a made up metric based off in part preseason guesses to initially rate inflate or discount teams. Where as a loss is a loss.

So you agree ND should try and schedule ZERO ranked teams, and waltz into the playoffs?

This should be their schedule every year

NAVY
MARYLAND
Wake forest
Vandy
Miss state
Miami Ohio
Purdue
Indiana
Georgia southern
Virginia tech
Duke
Boston College

Boom, losses are all that matters

This is the stupidity of the "the playoff makes the regular season matter" crowd. If Clemson goes unbeaten and wins the ACC, they sure as shite will be in the playoff. And they SHOULD go in over a 1 loss LSU if LSU doesn't win the SEC (presumably the 1 loss would be to Alabama, meaning they aren't in the SEC Championship).

You can't want the regular season to matter and push for teams that don't even make the conference championship to be in the playoff.

And beating Auburn sure as hell doesn't mean LSU makes the playoff. If they beat Auburn, that makes Auburn AT LEAST a 2 loss team, and likely a 3 loss team once they play Alabama. Hell, Auburn still has to play Georgia as well.

Beat Alabama, and their chances of making the playoff greatly increase.

You make the regular season matter even less. You are telling teams to schedule the worst teams possible

Well sure if that’s what they want to do

I mean if you want to bitch about Notre Dames schedule don’t throw too many rocks at LSU or Alabama’s I have never seen a FCS team on the Irish's Schedule

The playoff should be 24 teams and everyone eligible for a chance to win it

I mean let’s say the 9 seed wins it

They’d win 5 games in a row
Played 24 round 1
Play 8 round 2
Play 1 round 3
Play 4/5 winner semis
And winner most likely 2/3 in finals

If any team can do that they’ve earned a NC except from CFB FBS P5 fans who are so elitist to understand it

I wished they’d the committee would only show seeds at end and do it like a true seeded tournament in every other ncaa sport.

Use the committee to seed all teams but get out of this top 4 charade that’s made CFB boring and insignificant for 95% of teams. It’s ruined the bowls

Pride when the Massey comes out I’ll make a 24 team bracket using top ranked team of conference as auto, then add in at larges.
I know people will complain but if you actually study it, it works and people won’t sit players as claim, because you won’t want to lose a seed.

No I'm not, dude. Most teams play no more than 4 games out of conference. And you can't control how good your conference opponents are. So why punish someone for beating the teams put in front of them, just because 3 or 4 of the games they schedule are against mediocre opponents?

Who the frick did Alabama play out of conference? LSU played Texas, and 3 scrubs. Ohio State played no one. Oklahoma played a shite UCLA team, and no one else.

Tell me which conference actually looks good. You can't say the SEC looks strong outside of Alabama and LSU at this point, because the East has struggled against each other all season, and Aubbie hasn't exactly been a world beater.

All this bullshite about "the regular season matters" is crap anyway, because it's all about perception. Autobids to conference champs makes it matter, because it doesn't matter what anyone thinks; all that matters is what happens on the field.
