Crazy how much this situation is mimicking Baker Mayfield's last season in Cincinnati. QB hampered by injury playing very ineffectively and wide receivers openly bitching and complaining about QB's ineffective play. Only difference is Cleveland stuck with their head coach and got rid of Baker. Cincinnati's going to end up firing Taylor because Burrow's definitely going nowhere.

Nick Chubb should get his sorry arse out there too.

I’m the last guy to defend field goal Joe, but comparing injuries is stupid.

I like Joe, but he doesn’t have the arm to still make decent throws downfield while injured like Mahomes and Allen. Even healthy he isn’t going to make those throws like them.

Whether it’s him or the offense they haven’t always attacked or pushed the ball downfield enough until behind in a game, and that has gotten worse this season. His yards per attempt are at the bottom this season just above Bryce Young before today.

s, it's good he's dealing with a little adversity. I believe in the end it will benefit him to go through this setback and he'll likely emerge a better QB.

Oh so his entire career before LSU?

allen had by far the worst injury with the torn UCL in his throwing elbow

Mahomes was far more hobbled than Joe as well with the high ankle sprain in his plant leg

Joe’s injury is the most manageable of the three. He just doesn’t have the physicality of the other two to overcome it. It’s ok to admit that

Joe is in their league in terms of accuracy and ability to expose a defense. He isn’t in their league in physicality and it’s showing

Chase has said multiple times Burrow should not be playing. He’s frustrated they are sending out a gimp that can’t get him the ball outside of quick screens right now and I don’t blame him. Joe is too stubborn to sit and management is too gutless to make him.

That goes both ways. Chase definitely helped Joe's bank account too.

If Burrow sits people would say “oh he got paid and dipped turning into Michael Thomas the QB”

Burrow instead has been begging to play and has struggled and has still taken a ton of criticism this year.

There was truly a no win situation here. At best the Bengals would be the same record with a backup QB anyways.

If Burrow is so hurt then why is he playing?

What will be the excuse when he's healthy and still sucking?

Of note

Two players threw more TD passes than burrow today in the bengals/titans game

If you watch the entire clip Chase says something like “Joe is going through it right now physically but I know he’ll get right and start finding me again” after he talks about being open.

He’s very overtly not mad at Joe or blaming Joe other than the obvious observation that it’s a struggle bc he’s very hurt
