I always say they aren’t stealing kids, you are just losing them. What do you have to offer that they are. Are you doing everything to make sure your school is desired by all these kids. Just because they live in your zone, they aren’t “your” kids. Some publics need to get that concept.

Evangel is exactly the model Jay Miller chose to use, even meeting with them before he started the football programs. The main thing I understood he got from that was to bring in sponsors to help build facilities that are as good as you can afford and to hire the best coaches you can find and afford. He did just that.

I simplified it a bit but it was about having a plan and getting people to buy in by donating money to make it happen. Money is always part of the equation but plenty of people throw money at a problem and do not solve anything.

It has, just not been playing football. Football is about a decade old there. Basketball for much longer.
Jay's dad founded the church and the school in the early 70's.
