Maybe. And I’m not arguing either way. I haven’t watched him play a ton.
I will say that he seems like a great kid.
My guess is that he becomes a really good corner in the league, but the WR thing goes away.

He is an insane athlete and will be an elite DB in the pros IMO. The hype is warranted.
I think Jeanty should win the Heisman over him though.

WTF? Dude is the BEST corner in college football. He's also probably one of the top 5 receivers in the country.
He's probably a better CB than WR

It's unfair to the other players in college football to compare them to Travis Hunter. On their best day, they only have a chance to be productive and outstanding on 45% of their teams plays. Travis has that chance on 90% of plays.
People saying Jeanty should win the Heisman are overrating statistics. Travis is, productivity wise (while missing 1.5 games) a top 10 WR and a top CB. There is no player that can compete with that.

Boise will make the 12 team playoff.....we will see how he plays then.

As per usual, it’s someone with an Alabama logo next to their name that says some stupid shite because the spotlight isn’t fully on something to do with Alabama.
Posted on 11/19/24 at 7:27 am to _Hurricane_
If he played for Alabama, which he was good enough to, he’d walk away as one of the best CBs the university had ever saw.

He’s an absolutely elite CB.

you put him at WR his ceiling is probably DeVonta Smith like in the NFL.
That’s exactly who I would compare him to at receiver. Travis is fast and has elite ball skills. He has a 1st round grades at both positions imo. But I understand him not going number 1 if you don’t plan on playing him both ways.

think people are really underrating his CB skills.
They are, he will be a top level corner in the league.

No! He’s only played against nobodies while Travis has also played against nobodies! It doesn’t compare!
ETA: WAIT A SECOND! Jeanty ran for 192, 7 YPC and 3 TD’s against Oregon! A bunch of nobodies!
Here's the thing, nobody in this thread is saying that Jeanty is overrated. We all know he is great as well. You are the one making claims about people being overrated. The rest of us can recognize that there are multiple great players out there.

Imagine never playing sports ever in life and calling hunter overrated lmao
Posted on 11/19/24 at 9:12 am to _Hurricane_
I think he’s a great athlete but it would give me a bit of pause taking him super high (top 3ish) in the draft based on competition and the dual roles.

100% agree his stats as wide receiver are not that impressive. His last interception was a lucky tip ball straight in his hands not because he was a lock down corner. I think he’s an amazing player but there are some better for the heisman to be honest. Also he isn’t doing this against sec competition lol they don’t play anybody impressive to be honest. I think jeanty had put up insane numbers on up there with Barry sanders who record will probably never be broken.

Travis is overrated in leading the heisman candidate not being overrated as a player. He is good but I rank him like 2 or 3 in heisman race. He doesn’t play any competition and that’s fine if your stats are just outrageous like jeanty. Jeanty is about to break 2k rushing that’s rare. Derrick Henry was the last person to do that in 2015 and he won the Heisman. I think more players could play 2 way like hunter but they just don’t because teams usually won’t allow it.

Doesn't the NFL pay WRs a lot more than CB now?
But if he's only a 15 -20 ranked NFL WR, then they pay levels off a bunch. Top 5 CB will garner better money but does he have potential be top 5 CB? Being elite CB is a lot more difficult with today's NFL rules.
