I wouldn't put him in the HOF but he has more of a case than Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Reggie Miller do.

T-Mac at his peak was better than all 3 of those guys, so I understand what you are saying.

To be fair, I didn't think Reggie deserved it so what the hell do I know. TMAC never got past the 1st round when not playing the role of scrub who adds nothing.

TMAC had a 10 year stretch were he averaged 24/6/5. Yes, his career was cut short at 30 because of injuries, but if he had went to college would we still be talking about how he doesn't deserve the hall of fame based on a strong 10 year career.

Bill Walton made the HOF off of 468 games and 13000 minutes (Some seasons he only averaged 20m per game). TMAC played 30,000 minutes. The only difference is Walton played on couple better teams, and he was able to get 1 MVP (in a season he played only 65 games).

I think you can make a very strong case TMAC deserves in based on how little Bill Walton played with similar type of peak performance.

edit: Walton is also receiving extra consideration because of his college career. I still think TMAC has a similar claim to Walton's though.

He also won 2 rings, & you are comparing him to someone who couldn't get out of the first round.

Wow! Split camp. Closer than I thought. I just always felt T-Mac was very good but didn't help his team improve. Therefore, he never acheived excellence. Vote still stands no.

I'm in the No camp-- and I'll preface it by saying I don't really like T-Mac; the numbers are nearly there, though.

A HOF quality peak, but really, his last 3 years were totally forgettable, meaning the heart of his career is very short.

Absolutely not. This is coming from a life-long Rockets fan. IMO injuries and of course his inability to make it out of the first round of the playoffs hampered his career. I haven't gone through this thread so idk if this has been posted, but this needs to be seen. vintage T-Mac:
