Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic let rip at the referees following his team’s narrow 132-131 defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

Rajakovic was left furious by the free throw disparity between the two teams, with the Lakers shooting 36 free throws in the game compared to the Raptors’ 13.
quote:

In the fourth quarter alone, the Lakers shot 23 free throws; the Raptors shot only two
“That’s outrageous,” Rajakovic fumed. “What happened tonight, this is completely BS. This is shame. Shame for the referees. Shame for the league to allow this. Twenty-three free throws for them and we get two free throws in the fourth quarter? Like, how to play the game?

“I understand respect for All-Stars and all that, but we have star players on our team as well. How is [it] possible that Scottie Barnes, who is an All-Star-caliber player in this league, he goes every single time to the rim with force and trying to get to the rim without flopping and not trying to get foul calls, he gets two free throws for a whole game?
quote:

“How is that possible? How are you going to explain that to me?”
quote:

“They came to win tonight? If that’s the case, just let us know, so we don’t show up for the game,” Rajakovic continued. “Just give them a win. But that was not fair tonight.
He’s gonna get fined but he is 100% right

Did he acknowledge the FTs where his team intentionally fouled?

Raptors had 70 pts in the paint and only shot 13 free throws compared to the Lakers 50 pts in the paint.

That's not even a basketball game any more at that point. Just a free throw competition.

I haven’t looked but it seems like the Lakers weren’t playing a whole lot of defense in the paint.

Been watching ESPN this morning. The talking heads are chuckling about the dude going off. What they haven't done is address the root cause of the rant. Where's the dividng line between bad officiating and the refs fixing a game? The NBA is a joke because shite like this is blatant.

Just a free throw competition slanted to one team.

This is the only stat that’s needed. Free throws should be close if not slanted in favor of the raptors.

Free throws are the easiest way they can rig games in basketball. This type of absurd shite has been going on for years now in the NBA.

It really is a shame.

That was complete BS, totally inexcusable. The charge call was a joke. That fourth quarter last night was shades of 2002 WCF Lakers v Kings. Both games left me with zero doubt that the NBA interferes with the result of the game, in 2002 it was to get the lakers to the finals. Last night it was to keep the Lakers in the playoff race. It was a travesty.

Here’s a common denominator though. Those Lakers had Shaq. Last night they had AD… of course you’re gonna get a bunch of free throws if you have the best big man on the floor

That's a great video. I have a new catch phrase "it's a complete crap"
