3 seasons, 38 touchdowns.
That is incredible production from the tight end position, while providing great blocking.
If that means I'm some sort of homer, I can live with that.

Stats don't validate your argument.
He is the go-to option in the most pass happy offense in NFL history

Only owns the single season touchdown and yardage records for tightends, which he achieved in his second full season

No he's not, Wes Welker is.
Oh, and fun fact, last year Jimmy Graham had more targets than Gronk.

He sounds like he was on jersey shore for 7 seasons.

Wes Welker had 172 targets last year, Gronk only had 124.
Another fun fact, Jason Witten has gone over Rob's 124 targets 4 times in his career, yet only has 5 more touchdowns.

Brady is the king maker.
Jerry rice on any other team with out the SF system isnt the same Jerry Rice.
Meaning any equally talented TE in the league Ie. Gonzalez 2 season ago, V.Davis, Jimmy Graham, Aaron Hernandez would be in the same statistical category.

Graham and Gronk look a lot closer than I realized based strictly on combine numbers.

I'm not going to argue the brilliance of Bill Belichick.
That being said, am I supposed to hold that against him? Should we consider Vernon Davis the best tight end in the league because he's had shite throwing to him for his entire career? No, we rely on the numbers, and the numbers show Gronk is a monster, without being the main option on his team.

No
You can't use stats as an argument

Huh?
QB, System and Coach is a HUGE factor is what Im saying.
Comparing Whittens targets to Gronks is a piss poor comparison.

If you can find me that information, I'd be glad to use it.
Rob managed to make his 124 targets transform into the most yardage in a single season ever by a tight end though, so it's not like he's only doing it in the red zone

I think you went alot further then Gronk is a "monster". Which no sane person can dispute.
Something to the effect of being the best TE in the history of the NFL.

So, you're saying that comparing receptions among tight ends that both operate in spread offenses while also being counted on to be exceptional blockers is a piss poor comparison?
I guess we can never use stats, because nobody is a great comparison.
