The list is like the Heisman award. Tons of QBs and RBs but very few linemen. It's an OK list if you love stats but doesn't really look at many guys that deserve to be there.

Man, Oregon played so well against Cam. After Mathews got that strip, it really felt like we were destined to pull it off.

Nick Fairley was just as dominant on the line esp blowing up the read option that season as Cam was at QB.

Pretty good list IMO. Could be a debate on a few but it's over a 50 year span and there have been some great ones over the years. I remember watching most of them growing up. Hugh Green is too low though. That guy was incredible.

Umm no he isn't. Zeke had a better college career, with a natty to boot and isn't top 50.

Saying FSU was a nobody during Tebows years is just stupid....

FSU's final ranking while Tebow was a starter:

2007: NR
2008: 21
2009: NR

They were nobodies old man.

And that's not even including Mississippi State, who finished 9-4 (and demolished Michigan in the bowl game).

The most impressive part of it all is the fact that Auburn's 2010 season was sandwiched around:

2008: 5-7
2009: 8-5
2010: 14-0
2011: 8-5
2012: 3-9

And 2010 was the strongest the SEC West has ever been. Every team was at least damned good, except Ole Miss.

Ok so you are gonna base Tebows Career because of what he did against FSU?????

I think Watson is great and should have won two in A row... BUT I can assure you anyone would take Tebow over Watson. knowing at the timw that they would have him for 4 seasons...

Tebow is the Christen Leatner of college football.... Think about it.........

I think if you asked people what QB would you want for 4 years...

between...Tebow, Leinart, Young, Mariotta, Elway, Luck, Cam, Wuerfell, Frazier, etc.

I think most people are taking Vince Young by the multiple ways he could destroy defenses with his speed and size.

40-yard dash

Mariota - 4.48
Vince Young - 4.58
Tebow - 4.71

Mariota is the best athlete of them all - but Young's size is just such an advantage and he's way faster than Tebow.

Imagine if Young had played in college one more year after the Rose Bowl? I mean, he was getting more dominating every year. Texas would have repeated.

I would take Marcus Mariota and Cam Newton over Vince Young.

There are not 13 players better than Reggie Bush. And if there are, sure as shite Tim Tebow isn't one of them.

Vince Young was never anything special until his junior season. He showed flashes running, but his passing was mediocre at best and left a lot to be desired.

Statistically, Marcus Mariota was just as good of a runner when compared to Vince Young (although, I give VY the slight advantage), but Vince Young wasn't even in the same stratosphere when it came to passing. Marcus Mariota was ridiculously accurate and almost never made mistakes passing. 105 passing touchdowns, 14 interceptions, and nearly 11,000 passing yards.

Plus Young possessed a very unorthodox throwing motion and performed poorly on the Wonderlic that failed to deter the Titans from selecting him 3rd overall and conferring him a 5 yr/$25 million guaranteed rookie contract-accomplished a lot at Texas though and won a Natl Title which Mariota failed to do

Holy run-on sentence, Batman.

Marcus Mariota was a better college and professional player. End of story. And he isn't crazy.

People forget this...he's one of the most accurate QBs of all-time. And throwing on the run.

If he had been Young's size; jesus christ...godzilla Elway.

Yeah, but you know everyone's taking Young in a game over Mariotta in college.

You just are...the guy was impossible to tackle...and yes, his throwing almost cost them the Rose Bowl Natty in the final drive of two passes should have been intercepted.

But nobody is taking Mariotta over Young to save their life in a college bowl game.

Vince Young would be that guy for me. He won by himself and even beat Mack Brown.

Didn't read the thread before I posted. I have a hard time arguing against Vince as a college player. He had bad coaching and still beat some great teams. He beat a stacked USC team by himself (with help from Bush and Pete).
