Too much weight is put on the call on the field for reviews

Don't get me wrong, frick Texas, it's hilarious that they are losing now because of that TD.
But as the thread title states, the only reason that was upheld as a TD is because the call in real time was a TD. If you showed that replay to someone without any prior knowledge of the call, they'd likely rule that a fumble out the end zone and touchback.
Meanwhile, the data that has the most weight during a review is a call on a sequence that was not moving in slow motion with the refs likely more focused on Underwood's feet being in bounds than control of the ball.

Isn’t there a reason the call on the field has more weight? And it’s not to help get the call right.
It’s because people want the call on the field to have more weight, right?

But that's only to protect the officiating union. Does nothing to support making the right call.
