Aaron Rodgers admitted to doing the same, what do you think his suspension should for admitting to cheating to gain a competitive advantage(minus the lying)?

I smoked weed already, but I dont think I should be fired from my job because I was never caught.

just like in bountygate, other teams said they did similar things but it was the team that was caught and "lied" about it that was punished. also, the patriots, like the saints were warned about bounties, were warned about fooling with the balls before.

There was evidence that every Gregg Williams team did exactly whatever it was the Saints did wrong.

There was an ESPN story about how the Reggie White Packers team did the same thing.

Nobody else was punished. Ever.

Fair enough, but we're talking about tarnished legacies for the same actions.

You smoked weed and didn't get caught, others smoked weed and got caught...you're no better than they are just cuase you didn't get caught, that's my point.

Right, like I said, going back to faux outrage.

We're not outraged becuase of the action, you can't argue you are unless you're going to tarnish the others for the same action.

This thing is akin to pitchers using pinetar. Suspend him 2 games and be done with it.

By "you" I mean saint fans in general. Which was my original post that you attached yourself to.

Agreed. I think 2 games is too much, but I agree with your overall point.

George Brett's legacy hasn't been stained, so I don't know why we'd think Brady's should be.

That would end up being hilarious if that happened. Brady would destroy the NFL in court.

Actually he wouldn't. I think there are terms in the CBA that allow for discipline for refusal to help in an investigation. I don't know if he can be suspended a whole season, but he can be disciplined. The bounty players won in court because there wasn't language dealing with bounties in the CBA.

He gave an interview with investigators which was ignored in the report. He will destroy the investigation in court when it comes to that.

Supposedly, he met with them for an entire day.

If Tom Brady goes to court that is his worst nightmare. Then the NFL would really get to investigate even more into him. He wont get a full year, but he also doesnt want to be in court with this

If he gave an interview, but was less than truthful (i.e said he didn't know, but others said he did) or refused to answer questions than he can still face discipline. This is not a court of law case and the CBA which his union signed waived 5th amendment rights.

He is a cheater, get over it.

Wouldn't that also mean the court can dig into Goodell's past investigations to reveal a trend of his ineptitude?

No. That would be character assassination. Wouldnt be allowed unfortunately for Tom. Look, it appears by all accounts Brady did this. That is pretty much agreed on by everyone. So to take it to court would not be wise for him, unless he truly thinks he can prove he didnt
