This course and Chambers Bay are clear examples of why the US Open should always be played at places like Winged Foot, Shinecock and Pinehurts No2. This is not a US Open quality course. Gotdamn people shooting 64 and 65 every damn day.

The golf course doesn't have the teeth I'd have wished but the leaderboard is insane. Lot of players with a great shot at the championship.

I think the USGA got scared. The whole course is fescue outside of the Bent grass greens. They could have easily tightened up the fairways, played 1 and 14 as par 4's and the leaders would be around even par.
ETA - The funny thing is that if the wind was blowing, this would be a whole different tournament and people would be jizzing over the massacre that was occurring.
