Yeah, that's definitely a possibility. If anything, she looks desperate for staying with him and sitting beside him in a press conference saying she was sorry for HER role in the ordeal. So how much don't we know prior to them entering an elevator?

Like I said, should have been taken care of in February.

Yes. Know why? Because screw Goodell.

These guys are saying they haven't seen this video until today? I saw this shite in February and I know nothing about finding rare vids.

That's what I don't get. Did they think she just fainted in the damn elevator? He told them he knocked her arse out. Oh, but video!!

Lol I agree with that too. It's just a C.Y.A event now in the NFL.That's all.

Goodell will surely blame people on his staff who should've brought him the video

And the stupidity of it will stoke the flames even more

If TMZ proves he had direct knowledge of its existence and ignored it, he's fricked

Did the league hold Peyton accountable for what happened in his program:

quote:

The league also chastised him for choosing to "falsely deny that the program existed," and for trying to "encourage the false denials by instructing assistants to 'make sure our ducks are in a row.' "

I had a female friend today who was very upset at the news because she has him on her fantasy team.

I suppose, but neither the timing nor the postponed outrage bothers me. I'm not overly bothered by any aspect of the situation. Some concern over the stupidity, sure, but that's it. Girl slapped Rice in the face in public once. Then again on the elevator. Rice got more physical than he should have. Rice is an idiot who could have handled himself better and the girl is an idiot for both getting physical initially and then staying with him. What did she expect would happen after she slapped a public figure in the face in public? That his ego wouldn't be hurt and that he wouldn't get upset?

I just don't understand why the video is a big deal. Saw the video, didn't see the video, doesn't really matter. Why is the public so outraged by Goodell either seeing the video or not? It was an NFL player physically abusing a female - that much was known the entire time. The video actually wasn't as bad as I expected or as bad as it could have been.

I'm pretty indifferent toward Goodell and this doesn't really change that for me. Goodell waited for the legal system to play out. If people want blood, then they should talk to the DA. A month later he met with Rice. The next month he suspended him for 2 games. Hell, Ravens fans gave him a standing ovation at one point after the incident, but Goodell is the bad guy for thinking that video warranted only a two game suspension?

I dunno. I feel like I'm being unrealistically cynical and insensitive, but this just doesn't bother me that much.

I think Goodell tried to justify a 2 game suspension by going off of Rice's account in which he was the victim, which would mean either:
A) he didn't put much effort into to finding the video or
B) he saw the video and somehow thought it would never become public.

If people are outraged at Goodell today for him viewing or not viewing the video, I think this is why.

I thought the video actually exonerated Rice somewhat. She slapped him in the face in public. He attempted to approach her in the elevator to address the situation. She slapped him again in the face. She then lunged at him. She was hit once and knocked out by the rail on the elevator, not necessarily his contact. I just expected it to be so much worse. This wasn't the savage beating the media had me expecting.
