You're justifying a professional athlete hitting a woman... He could have just have easily grabbed her arms and calmly diffused the situation.
Or if he couldn't control his emotions, never get on the elevator with her in the first place

I'm not justifying anything. I simply said it wasn't nearly as bad as I anticipated considering it was a professional athlete and a woman.

My pointing out that she was the initial aggressor was purely to emphasize the professional athlete and a woman context. He's a public figure who she embarrassed in public. He made his life on his physicality. What did she expect to happen? It shouldn't have taken a high level genius to figure out what would happen next.

This has nothing to do with what she did to him. If he handles the situation with any ounce of self awareness he still has a job in the NFL

I've already said he could have handled himself better. And I've called him an idiot.

And you've blamed her as well. What a dick.

I can agree with that, obviously.

This is the real story.

Liars saying this is the first time they've seen the video.

They're very clearly both in the wrong IMO.

I thought the video actually exonerated Rice somewhat. She slapped him in the face in public. He attempted to approach her in the elevator to address the situation. She slapped him again in the face. She then lunged at him. She was hit once and knocked out by the rail on the elevator, not necessarily his contact. I just expected it to be so much worse.

You've definitely hit a woman before...

No, just no. She did nothing that deserved two strikes to the face from Ray Rice. If you see otherwise, you should do some self-reflection.

That people being shocked and appalled by the video and calling for Goodell's job is a head scratcher for me. People had to have an idea of what they were about to see. Goodell didn't even need to see the video. He had to know what it would look like. I'm just saying that I personally expected something more violent. Not that I'm defending Rice in the least bit. I've already made that clear. I primarily jumped ITT to say that this turning a blind eye incident really won't tarnish the image of the league long-term.

Have you ever been slapped or hit by a woman before? And if so did you feel the need to defend yourself with a right hook?

I didn't say she deserved anything. I'm just saying what she did wasn't innocent.

This has steam. Tons of MSM outlets calling for Goodell's head
