Can the Broncos actually make the playoffs, currently 4-5 with Jets tonight. With San Diego, Buffalo, KC, Minnesota, Chicago, and NE can they win at least 5 of these game to finish 9-7 and possibly win AFC West?

Could 8-8 win the West? Raiders only team in Division with a winning record.

If Tebow leads them to playoffs and say they upset a Houston/Pitt in first round, does criticism cease?

no, because they're winning despite him, not because of him.

I mean, shite, he makes Mark Sanchez look like a good QB.

What's interesting is that Vick's passing ability was criticized MUCH more harshly than Tebow's, and Vick was MUCH more accurate than Tebow will ever be. Now, if Tebow were the #1 overall pick and highest paid player in the league, we'd probably see more criticism. But still...

No...no it wasn't. You may have taken more exception to his criticism but it was never on the level as what Tebow has received (and rightfully so).

They couldnt win with Orton....just saying. I cant stand Tebow but I dont see how this argument keeps going when the team sucked without him as a starter. It may not be pretty but somehow it works when the "real qb" didnt

All I know is, if he beats the Jets tonight the coverage is going to unbearable for the next 10 days.

Keep in mind that I live in Atlanta and heard all the talk on sports radio here and read the ajc columns, which of course amplifies anything related to the Falcons...

they suck with him now.

Congrats, Tim, your team beat some bad teams.

When your QB can't complete 50% of his passes, the team is not winning because of him.

When your coach only calls 8 pass plays in an NFL game, your team isn't winning because of your QB.

I don't see how this is valid, how is he making the offense worse?
Their offense under Orton:

vs Oakland 310 yards offense, 3 turnovers, controlled ball 27:25 minutes

vs Cincy 318 yards, 2 turnovers, 30:15 minutes

vs Tennesse 231 yards, 2 turnovers, 29:06 minutes

vs GB 384 yards, 4 turnovers, 26:59 minutes

Their offense with combination of the two:
vs SD 275 yards, 1 turnover, 19:52

Their offense under Tebow:

vs Miami 308 yards, 1 turnover, 34:17 minutes

vs Detroit 312 yards, 3 turnovers, 30:26 minutes

vs Oakland 412 yards, 0 turnover, 31:51 minutes

vs KC 313 yards, 0 turnover, 33:38 minutes

they are averaging more yards, less turnovers, and controlling the ball longer with Tebow leading offense.

Coverage wasn't as big then as it is now.

In the early 2000s, Hoge was only on ESPN for the Edge NFL Matchup, which was on at like 5:30 AM on Sunday mornings, for example.

No NFL Network back then.

Riiiiiggggghhhhhttttt. The Broncos in the last two years are 4-14 when Tebow doesn't start, and 5-3 when he does start (my numbers may be off, but only by like one game). This Denver team is pretty crappy all the way around, yet all the "talking heads" want to discuss is the quarterback. They love to say that "Tebow can't win consistently in the NFL, so why waste time with him?" Well, I think that there cornerbacks suck, their wide receivers suck, and their offensive line sucks. Why is Denver wasting time with those players?

It is just driving the "NFL elite" nuts that Tebow has routinely found a way to win ball games. Against the Raiders, they rushed for about 250 more yards with Tebow than they did the first time they played the Raiders this year with a "real NFL quarterback". Has anyone else thought that maybe the ball control offense that the Broncos ran vs the Chiefs greatly helped their poor defense keep the Chiefs off of the field.

I'm pulling hard for the Broncos tonight just to see the "experts" try explain away another Tebow win. They go out of their way to contradict themselves. I heard this morning that if the Broncos fall behind by 2 scores, it might as well be 4 scores the way their offense plods along. Really? Didn't Tim Tebow help to lead the Broncos back from a 15 point defecit with less than 4 minutes in a game just 4 weeks ago?

Because they aren't throwing the ball because Tebow CAN'T THROW. Orton can hand the ball off just as well as Tebow. Denver completely changed their offense because they have a running back playing QB.

Watch how they do without their top two backs in the upcoming weeks.
