Nothing you say can be taken seriously once you said this:

quote:

The hardest tournament to win in the world is the US am

quote:

No one is exempt so you have to do well at local qualifying

quote:

One of Tigers first college tournaments he shot 18 under in one day of 36 holes.

quote:

He is the only person to win the US junior at every age group

quote:

one of only 2 to win the eldest twice.

ETA: Please leave this thread as you have proven not to have a clue.

Palmer
Player
Trevino
Watson
Ballesteros
Floyd
Irwin
Crenshaw
Langer
Zoeller
Lyle
North
Miller

All won multiple majors during Nicklaus career.

Add in guys like Norman, Stewart, Faldo and Strange and you'll find that Nicklaus competed against half or more of the legends of golf in his career. Inferior competition my arse.

I mean honestly. What would Jack shoot in his prime with new equipment? U can't say who should beat who in their prime due to that. But u can see who they played and who played the better players of the decades. That's Jack.

In their primes I still say Tiger was more dominate.

I'd say Tiger would win more....but dominate? I think Jack would certainly fare significantly better than any of Tiger's contemporaries.

that's all you're gonna give jack? ... that he would fare sig better than tiger's contemporaries? ...

More wins, better winning percentage, more POY's, more scoring titles, more money titles, more dominant, more wins in a row, more 5+ win seasons, all 4 majors in a row, more us am's, on pace with jack in major wins - all against deeper competition. GOAT.

Emojis make you seem really intelligent. Plus about half the people in the golf business that I know agree with me that the US am is the hardest tournament to win.

nicklaus won a long drive contest at a pga championship in the 60s with a 340 yd drive ... ever played with a persimmon wood and a balata ball? ... his combined ranking for distance and length in 1980 was 23 ... no one's come close since ... he regularly finished in the top 5 in gir, well into his 40s ... his skill set was every bit as good as tiger's ... he was a better driver of the ball ... just as good at putting under pressure, and an exceptional manager ... tiger has him in the short game, obviously ...

golf digest compared his 1963 final round at augusta to tiger's 1997 final round ... almost no difference in clubs hit ... tiger might hit 1 club shorter here or there, but jack would hit 1 club shorter there or here ...

It took a 65-65 by Watson at Turnberry to beat his 65-66 finish to win by one stroke in 1977. Tiger has never faced competition that fierce on the final weekend of a major.

Well for one I am laughing at you because you are wrong about everything you spewed. And you are telling me the US Am is more difficult to win that the US Open ???

Have you just started watching golf?

I've been watching since 1997 as a product of the Tiger generation. Hell I'm probably the biggest Tiger guy there is. That said, I'm still a realist about where he has been, where he will go, and where the tour stands now.

quote:

Was Tiger better? Sure. But if he was that much better he would be way ahead of Jack by now.
Nahh, I would say the injuries, controversy, and obsession with swing changes are the reason he is not ahead of Jack. A few potentially great years were derailed because the 3. If you look at the numbers, it's easy to see he has been that much better than everyone else.

quote:

The reason they collapsed was because he was so much better and they were intimidated.
So pick one. Did they get beat by talent or intimidation. I hate the argument. People collapse in final rounds all the time, why is it so much different when it happens to be against Tiger? No one says shite about intimidation factor when guys fall apart to anyone else.

I agree and the numbers are there to prove it. Also helps that he transcended an entire sport/culture like no athlete ever has (Jordan is the only one close) and no athlete will ever do again.
