Dude claims tiger is goat. Can't fathom how jacks top 20 players played against based on majors won and hall of fame careers is better than tigers too 20. But says tiger played deeper competition which means jack shite. Says Gary Player wouldn't win a major today but that he is better than Toms who won one. Called out Brnet to play a shot a hole. Got countered and probably will not take offer.

Tiger and Kobe Bryant are the same person to their respective sports.

well Kobe won championships as a vet

had he only won with Shaq in his younger years, then I'd agree

now he's just old

Tiger is still young in golf years

I disagree. I don't like Kobe, but I respect his accomplishments. That said, he came to the game right after MJ and right before Lebron. It was bad timing if anything. Lebron is the TW of basketball. Maybe not in terms of accomplishment, but impact.

After reading the last 3 pages to catch up on this thread, Tequila is just a miserable nerd.

There is no good argument for Kobe being the GOAT. Terrible example.

They didn't take a 9 iron to the head, mess up their back and leg.

Back and leg seem fine to me now. Hopefully the injuries don't keep lingering around the rest of his career. If they do, 18 will be tough to get.

I am the one who brought up Gary player. Said he would win 3 majors today. Better than toms. But no better than Ernie.

Imo, Tiger is an old 38 in golf years.

Lets compare, non major wins. How many trnys. did Jack play a year in his day compared to Tigers trnys. he played in his hay day. Somebody googlepedia this, and report back for more conversation. Take Jacks best ten years, and Tigers best. Trnys. played, to trnys. won. I believe Jack probably played more only because there wastn't that many back then compared to today. Seems Tiger picks his trnys. non majors, that set up well to his game, eye.

Not sure about total trnys for each but Jack has 115 professional wins, Tiger has 106...

So Gary played pretty much his entire career with Jack and Arnold. Ernie played in early 90's which was considered golfs down time as far as talent. But Player wouldn't be better than Ernie. Dude just stop.

Very subjective of course as to how anyone from a previous generation would fare in the next, but Player's short game was so much better than Ernie's over time, I'd give him an edge.

But when comparing Tiger's peers against Jack's I tend to think Tiger faced deeper talent but the Jack's top tier peers were better.

For example, I can count at least 4 majors Trevino and Watson stepped up with great performances or shots to steal majors from Jack that none of the best of Jack's peers ever did in a major.

The dual in the sun at Turnberry the best example where Jack and Watson lapped the rest of the field by 8 strokes.

I don't recall the Mickleson's, Sing's, Duval's, El's et al ever stepping up so strongly to challenge Tiger like that in a major. Guys like Dimarco, Scott May and the like made Tiger sweat it, but telling to me the best of his peers never did like the best of Jack's did.

StilI, I think if their primes coincided, Tiger would probably get the best of Jack more than not, and that hurts me to say as a big Jack fan.

But it would be fun to see.
