OKC coaching blew that game. Fouling with 10 secs and Jokic off the court and no timeouts. Defense is why they won so many games and you took that away.

Don’t foul and at worst they tie it with a likely chance to get a shot off afterwards. But you defense could flood the 3 point zone and give up a 2 and time would have been on your side.

Curious how they respond.

Since 2000, there have been 15 series in which a team coming off a sweep faced a team in the next round that had just played a seven-game series.

The rested team is 14-1:

14-2

Nuggets have the best player

Thunder have the better team but still young and lack experience being successful in moments like last night.

Any objective person would never say SGA is more valuable to his team than Joker. Never.

The award is over 82 games of the season not one game of playoffs. And its already over the votes are locked in.

He had 7 turnovers last night, a flagrant foul and a flop on a 3 point try. Denver is the king of FT Merchants.

Russ had a great game lets see if he scores 18 points a game in series. And lets see if OKC plays as bad.

Its like people have not watched playoffs and the ebbs and flows of a series. It took a complete meltdown by coaching at the end to win the game and this with Jokic scoring so much.

Having 9 days off (and a week prior to the 4 games with Grizz) showed last night in rusty play. When OKC wins Wed then it shifts and all they need is to steal one of two games at Denver.

Long ways to go and its only just beginning. Denver drew first blood lets see how OKC responds.

Ironically, OKC/Boston/Cleveland all lost game 1 at home.

Your team lost a game to a tired nuggets team. The playoff record of a team coming off a sweep vs a team that just finished a 7 game series tells me your team is in trouble.

I don’t think you’re reading that stat correctly.

In this case 9 days is too much time off. They were off a week prior too. Had 4 games in over 3 weeks. Even though Denver was tired they were in a groove.

Its one game of 7. If OKC were to lose Wed then its likely over. If they win the pressure shifts and they just need one of two at Denver.

I won’t be on here much in daytime so can’t respond due to work throttling wifi, just as a note.

They had a 14 or 15 point lead though. Just couldn't close against the MVP.

I fully expect the Thunder to win the series because they have a much better overall team than the Nuggets. But, as has been stated by wise souls, the Nuggets have the best player.

Not sure why you got DV. Just trying to clarify that stat is for series result not game 1.

He was on the bench in crunch time. Caruso made a mistake and fouled up 3 with 11 seconds left. That was the game, let’s not get it twisted.

There’s a couple guys on here who hate the Thunder because Shai is gonna prevent Jokic from winning his 4th mvp. They get really childish about it.

Including last night the Nugs are now 3-2 against the Thunder this year. I told you Saturday night that it’s a bad matchup for your boys. The Nugs frontcourt absolutely feasts against Chet/Hartenstein every time they play.

It’s not about rust, it’s not about 9 days off, it’s not about coaching. The Nuggets just play the Thunder very well.

Was this before or after he hit a 3 in Hartenstien's grill to cut it to 1? He dominated while playing 40+ minutes, much of them in foul trouble.

Including pre season its 3-3 but I get your point. Either Chet or IHart were out most of the year at one time or other and both only got healthy end of season.

This game was lost by coaching.

OKC had Denver exactly where you want them. Jokic on sideline with no timeouts. Fouling on the inbound pass was a horrific decision. It ran no clock when Den had to go all the way.

Most importantly it allowed Jokic back on. After Denver made the 2 FTs Jokic was guarding Caruso inbound pass but was close enough to SGA to double him. So that redirected pass to Chet who Denver fouled.

Getting Jokic back on court allowed them to keep ball from SGA and get it to Chet who missed both.

Yes, Denver had almost all players in the paint on second FT, but OKC did not get prepared for fast break which allowed the 3 try/make.

Total breakdown at end of game. Coaching. Also, Mark likely needs to reduce a player or two in rotations.

If you are OKC, seeing Jokic and Russ both score above avg is a hopeful sign, they likely can’t keep that up. And Chet/JDub had bad games.

It was a great steal for Denver. I felt they had a chance since no one gave them any. And in 3rd qtr OKC had a few chances to ice it and never did. But their last 3 minutes was one of their worst stretches to close a game all season so I expect lessons learned.

Kudos to Denver staying in game while down most of it. Game 2 should be fun
