KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee linebackers Will Ignont and Shanon Reid and wide receiver Jacquez Jones have left the team.

Volunteers coach Jeremy Pruitt confirmed the exits of all three players Wednesday, one day after multiple reports indicated Reid and Jones had entered the transfer portal.

Ignont, a junior from Huntsville, Alabama, started two of Tennessee's first three games and made 16 tackles but didn't play Saturday in a 34-3 loss to No. 9 Florida.

Reid, a junior from Fort Myers, Florida, had made 11 tackles in a reserve role. Jones, a sophomore from Clearwater, Florida, had one carry for 9 yards. Five players have now left Tennessee's team since the start of the season. Wide receiver Jordan Murphy and defensive back Terrell Bailey departed after a season-opening 38-30 loss to 26-point underdog Georgia State.LINK

Lol just cancel the rest of the season and let the rest of these losers go wherever they want. A 1-3 season is better than 1-11.

Has there been any discussion about forcing Guarantano into transferring?

Willing to bet that they were kicked off as opposed to leaving on their own accord... Germ just trying to broadcast it as such.

Hearing rumblings that Germ and company are purging the bad Botch apples one by one.

They can't reasonably fire Pruitt right now. But this is only going to get worse before it gets better. To put it in LSU terms, Pruitt has to at least be the Dinardo to Butch's Curley Hallman. At least build some semblance of a roster that can win, even if it's for the next guy. He needs at least two more years.

Pruitt will not survive a 1 or 2 win season.

VOLS will likely never win again so at least let us have a fun coaching search.

I don't want Mike Leach going anywhere. Sark After Dark would never be the same without him.

Dinardo came in and signed Kevin Faulk, which changed the perception of LSU for instate talent forever.

He then took over a 4-7 team, went 7-4 and won a bowl game. Then followed that up in year 2 with a 10-2 record and another bowl win and another solid rebuilding recruiting class.

Pruitt has gone the opposite direction.

Why? What's the difference between that and 5-7, being irrelevant is being irrelevant, regardless. This staff are some recruiting bloodhounds, wins make everything easier, but frick let the guys do their work and see what they can bring in.

It would be more alarming if it was his recruits leaving, from what I understand all of these guys were Botch Jones players.

Wow that is a worse indictment of this regime than any of their on field results. You rarely see a mass exodus like this.
