Baseball was just fine for 100 plus years.
Hang on a sec. So you're suggesting that there were no rules changes in baseball for the 100 years leading up to this?

Same as sliding into second.
Wait. So you’re OK with baseball officiating being LESS accurate?

I bet these are the same people who railed against the NFL making the field goal posts taller so it was easier to judge make/miss on FG attempts.
"Not being sure if he actually made it is part of what makes the game great!"
ETA: Or hated when tenths of a second were added to the clocks for sporting events under 10 seconds.

It’s so wild that the baseball idiots will defend it so ardently and think that they should be taken seriously

Artists like Tony Gwynn probably knew every ump’s K zone better than anybody.
There’s an old story about Stan Musial and how well he knew the strike zone.
Musial steps up to the plate against a rookie pitcher with a HOF umpire calling balls and strikes. First two pitches were balls but they were close. Rookie pitcher starts barking at the ump. The umpire calls time, takes his mask off and says “Young man, when it’s a strike, Mr. Musial will let you know.”

Cubs just challenged a ball and it was overturned. Took about 10 seconds and the call was corrected. Perfect.
