Eliminate PAT's.

1 pt. non timed play at 2 yard line.

2pt. conversion at 5 yard line.

I do not like it, it is making kickers kick field goals and not the points for it.

I like that idea, but I'd like to see it all levels, though

How about we just narrow the goddamn goalposts and call it a day?

My idea is to give each team 2 normal-length PAT attempts a game...that would add some strategy as to when to use it or to wait until a critical part of the game...but not have so many throughout...

I like this idea but just 1. A lot of teams only score 2 touchdowns a game anyway. But I do think this adds more excitement to the already GOAT sport. No longer will a thrilling TD be the end of the suspense late in the 4th quarter.

I agree. I think they should just get rid of the kicked PAT. A TD becomes worth 7 points. If you want to increase your point total, ball goes on the 2. If you score you get 8; if you don't you lose a point and get 6.

This is the best idea and what they should do. I don't understand why people would want to move the extra point back. You'd just be putting more games into the control of the kicker.

agreed. the 20 yard XP is a complete waste of time, but games shouldn't be won or lost on extra points.

Make the player who scored the TD kick the extra point - that's the real 'Rugby Style'

That's not what happens in rugby.

It's going to make gambling interesting. 3 has always been a key number but with an increased number of missed PATs comes fewer tied games so that end of game fg will only put you up by 2.

I hope it sticks. I actually like it. 2 misses already yesterday alone. Makes the game more interesting IMO.

I disagree completely.

I don't want games to be decided on extra points. That's just dumb, IMO.

People who think this is a good idea will change their tune immediately after they lose a game because of a missed XP.

Or, you can't make substitutions on the PAT, so somebody on the squad who scored must do any kicking necessary.

I can't believe so few people are saying this. It's perfect.

No it's not. It's idiotic. It constitutes completely altering the scoring system and difficulty of field goals in the name of making extra points more interesting. It's dumb as shite and would contribute to ruining the game.

Kicking is a part of the game. Deal. It used to be LBs and QBs doing it. The game has jsut become so specialized that now 170 lb, less athletic guys get the job, and we judge them accordingly

So because I don't agree with narrowing the goalposts to make extra points more difficult, and thus completely altering the difficulty of field goal kicking, which I've heard no one complain about, I don't recognize kicking as being an important part of the game? Jesus Christ...

Your post assumes that there is something wrong with making field goals more difficult. That is a silly assumption. Making field goals more difficult enlarges four-down territory, making the game instantly more interesting.

You're playing the victim when you're the one who called the "narrowing" idea idiotic. Don't start none, won't be none.
