I wish with the 12 team playoff, it had gone the other way.

8 conferences with 12 teams in each conference. Each conference winner gets an automatic bid and then four at large bids.

Would have been nice to see old rivalries come back.

Could have carved of some of the eastern big 10 teams and northern ACC teams to form a new conference. Get MD, BC, VT, WV, UVA, Rutgers, Liberty, JMU, and a few others into a new conference.

Could do the same with BIG 12 and PAC 12.

SEC could give up some teams as well to a new conference.

Hate these super conferences. Outside of LSU, I just don't want much anymore.

Nebraska started all this and they’re paying the price for it

?? that’s some revisionist history. PAC-16 (the OG super conference) ring a bell? Texas publicly begging the PAC to take all 4 Texas teams? Nebraska wasn’t even the first school to leave the Big 12 that year, Colorado was

Because it's a drop in the bucket when you are making 3X the amount of money and teams on the west coast are flying to every away game anyway.

Flying from LA to New York or DC to play Rutgers or Maryland is easier than getting to Pullman or Corvallis.

The travel isn't that big of a deal. The loss of the regionality of college sports and the history is.
