Screw that shite. You shouldn’t be arbitrarily dropped in seeding after a win regardless of the manner in which it was won.
Not re-ranking the field. Re-seeding like the NFL does.

For example: In the current format, the winner of the 5 vs 12 game will play the 4 seed in the 2nd round, no matter who wins. With re-seeding, if the 12 seed upsets #5, then the 12 seed would play #1 in the 2nd round as the lowest seed remaining in the field

Basically the #1 team would play the lowest ranked team who won their first round game. #2 would play the 2nd lowest remaining team, and so on

you will eventually need to reseeed in order to incentive teams to not rest starters, which i promise you is coming

I agree on the G5 champion.

Boise having a bye was ridiculous.

they will have to get rid of byes or change the calendar bc as it stands the top seeds get way too long a layoff and are rusty

Reseeding 60+ teams when games are played 2 days apart is slightly more difficult than reseeding 12 when games are played 10 days apart don’t you think?

Playoffs should be all FCS conference champions with 3 at-large… if you can’t win your own conference you shouldn’t be guaranteed nothing… your team should be built to win your conference

MSB’s ideal natty seeding:

8. South Carolina/9. Texas A£M winner vs 1. Texas

5. Ole Miss/12. Vanderbilt winner vs 4.
Missouri

6. Alabama/11. Arkansas winner vs 3. Tennessee

7. LSU/10. Florida winner vs 2. Georgia

But then we’d get OU and Auburn fans complaining about Vandy and Arky’s schedules.

Everyone saw that there were easy paths to the title game.

It's crazy how the bracket lined up, they definitely need to address that. Ohio State had a pretty brutal run they navigated with Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, ND. Meanwhile Penn State, who OSU had beat, somehow gets a 4 seed and played SMU, Boise State and ND.

There was way too much imbalance of the matchups.

How shitty of a precedent does that set? “Hey you won a playoff game, we’re going to drop your seeding for the trouble. Congratulations.” Screw that shite. You shouldn’t be arbitrarily dropped in seeding after a win regardless of the manner in which it was won.
don’t know why I’m just seeing this. That’s not what I mean. Reseeding so the higher ranked team always plays the lowest remaining.

Obviously wouldn’t have made a difference this year but if you take away the top 4 spots for conference champs it would’ve changed a lot.

Under what I’m proposing bracket would’ve been

1) Oregon
2) Georgia
3) Texas
4) Penn State

5) ND vs 12) Clemson
6) Ohio state vs 11) Arizona St
7) Tennessee vs 10) SMU
8) Indiana vs. 9) Boise

The way I envision this playing out we would’ve gotten

1) Oregon vs 9) Boise
2) Georgia vs 7) Tennessee
3) Texas vs 6) OSU
4) Penn St vs 5) ND

1) Oregon vs 7) Tennessee (factoring in QB and just picking a matchup to highlight how reseeding would change matchups)
6) OSU vs 5) ND

1) Oregon vs 6) OSU
