Vrabel last week, Stefanski today

It’s the playoffs, don’t give the damn ball away late in the games.

Agreed. If you hold them to a FG, you can still tie the game with 2 point conversion. Bad call.

Terrible. Especially cause at worst a FG only puts them up 8

Deserve to lose

75 percent of the league punts it where the Chiefs won it

it’s not that punting is in and itself bad, it’s that defense is worse skewing the math

I didn't have a problem with it. They were fourth and nine well in their own end and would have had a decent amount of time with a three and out. They still had a chance to get the ball with a minute even after that.

Especially for a franchise like the Browns. They had a chance to control their destiny for once and pussied out.

He thought his defense could stop a backup QB

He was wrong

You let this washed up QB have to score a TD if you don’t get the 1st down worst case scenario. Hold to a field goal, still a one possession game too

But nah, you’re the Browns. So burn all your timeouts and punt it away

So stop them and make them kick a long FG to go up 8 if you don’t get it. Punting was weak

what makes you think KC doesn’t get a TD if they don’t punt?

No problem with that punt. You expect to stop a backup QB (3 and out) and get the ball back with plenty of time.

Nothing like that old school philosophy in today's offensive explosion fooball.

I'm gonna trust my defense to get the ball back and maybe we'll be lucky to chuck a Hail Mary...

Vs.

We keep the ball in the O's hands to win, go for it on 4th down and if we fail we can still hold the Chiefs to a FG and 8 point game.

Especially since at the decision of the punt, you only had 1 timeout left.

An epidemic of shitty timeouts in all of football as well.

There should be a designated timeout guy on staff.

And Tomlin and Nagy. I thought we were in the analytic aggressive era, yet these dudes punt in situations you'd probably go for even in the old eras.

Maybe it's the low T era coming to fruition

Don’t punt, if you don’t make it hold to FG still one score

This exactly.

The scenario for the Chiefs remains the exact same. They are trying to run out the clock. If you happen to stop them, they get to attempt a longer field goal with their shitty kicker who has been awful this game.

If they make it, well then you're in the same scenario. You need to go down and score a TD still. Except you'll have better field position and probably more time on the clock (punts take about 8 seconds off the clock, field goals take less).
