shite's gonna be funny when all he forms is an MMA association or an Xtreme Baseball league.

$100 million doesn't seem like much to start a pro sports league.

The nfl can’t field 15 good teams.

There just aren’t enough good players to make this work.

If he can get the top talent to leave the NFL and college talent to enter their drafts, along with securing quality coaching, people will watch it.

I like the move. I hope he is successful. The NFL is dying by its own ineptitude/by its own hand and he sees a risk worth taking.

And I am as big a football fan as any here.

"Good" is sort of a relative thing. Mathematically every team can't have a winning record. You can only hope for a league to be competitive. The NFL is very competitive.

Don't know that he market is big enough for the NFL, College, and XFL though with how big College and the NFL are.

College teams couldn't compete in the NFL, yet plenty college games are just as much or more entertaining than NFL games.

I'm not saying this will work, but it won't be because of the talent.

Or maybe it will be, shite I have no idea.

There's only so many Herschel Walker and Steve Young contracts you can hand out.

USFL gave Walker the biggest contract in Pro Football History and Steve Young got a $43 million contract (guaranteed) in 1984.

The original XFL, McMahon put in $100 million.

He paid the players an average of $45,000 for a 10-game season with bonuses for winning games. Not too enticing for college players.

Not at first, but in time it could happen if the NFL continues down the road it is going.

I assume he is doing this because he sees how the league is being ran and knows a large majority of fans aren't as happy with the NFL as they were back when he first started the XFL.

All I want is another HE HATE ME.. dude was fun to watch

He is banking on the NFL going down the rubes as many expect. I guarantee that is his play here.

He will form a league that will compete based off the NFL's stupidity amd lack of leadership.

At least I believe that must be his ploy here to be successful in the long run.

We will see.

The talent won't help. It'll be 3rd rate players way behind the NFL and behind the CFL.
The whole selling point of the XFL was how it was going to be tougher than the NFL. They can't sell that anymore.
Think about how this board reacted to Danny Trevathan's hit on Davante Adams or Shazier laid out or Gronk piledriving Tre White.
"We will make them stand for the anthem" or "Our officials know what a catch is" won't be a good enough hook for it to work.

The rational "football will cease to exist" argument is over head injuries. Another football league with a different name won't cure that issue.

Ratings say otherwise.

I watch football all day every sunday, so I'm not in that number, but the ratings have dropped.

I don't care who runs the show as long as football stays alive in the future.

I think a lot of the fans hate what the league has done in a lot of areas not politically related either--rules and insonsistencies across the board.

The only reason anyone cares about that shite is because it's against the rules and most of these guys didn't sign up to be earholed.

Im sure they'll know what they're signing up for in the XFL.

That's one of the problems with the NFL. Leadership has created an environment where nobody knows that the shite they can and can't do. Now obviously, the Gronk and Trevathan hits are no-no's in the NFL.

I remember watching the first XFL game as a kid. I was pumped. That "scramble for the ball" to determine opening possession was so cool. I thought "damn, this is gonna be great!"

Then the actual football happened, and I turned on my video game before the end of the first quarter.
