Ok name a superstar that bridged the gap between those guys and tiger? Not saying that there weren't any good golfers, just saying that he brought in a lot of new viewers.

White Shark.

The Chosen Piece of shite brought in fans that were not of golf, but of El POS only.

Now El POS is not around, neither are his fans. Fantastic!

Except when Spieth had a melt at the Masters EL POS fans cheered the melt on because Spieth represents everything great about Golf- the anti-Tiger.

Great article. The one on Kobe this week was good as well. Best things I've seen from ESPN in a while.

But on another note holy hell Wright back away from the dinner table dude looks to have put on about 50lbs since the last time I saw him.

Very interesting article. I knew Tiger had an obsession with the SEALs didn't realize he took it to that level though

The part about him having a meal with Special Forces and not picking up the tab floored me. What a dick.

This also contributed to Tiger's downfall. Being a huge prick to anyone who couldn't help TW Inc.

I used to think Wright Thompson was kind of a douchey try-hard but this and his Katrina piece have really softened that stance. Both were excellent articles and you can see the work he put into them.

If you read the article, you would know what broke his body down.

This could easily be viewed as giving respect.

Not reading this link or the one from Golf.com as I recently read an 8 page article in S.I. covering a lot of the same stories. But one thing the S.I. article brought out was that Earl was always knocking marriage, ridiculing the concepts behind it, and openly having multiple girls..white...on the side going back decades. And Tiger was well aware of his father's doings & obviously came to share his opinions re marriage & cheating. The apple did not fall from this tree. As for his being a dick, there are lots of stories out there about the way he treated marshalls & the working staff at PGA events. He was detested by a large majority of the "common folk".

I took it as him just wanting to be part of the group. Yes he has the money, but he was there in attempt to escape the fame with the hope that he would be considered an equal. Of course that will never happen, but in his now screwed up mind he wants to at least try and escape.

Finally one of the SEALs said, "Separate checks, please."

The waitress walked away.

"We are all baffled," says one SEAL, a veteran of numerous combat deployments. "We are sitting there with Tiger f---ing Woods, who probably makes more than all of us combined in a day. He's shooting our ammo, taking our time. He's a weird f---ing guy. That's weird s---. Something's wrong with you.

honestly, i could give a shite about this type of thing. Pretty shitty to even bring this up. I actually think lesser of the Seals now to even mention it.

The Seals went out of their way to accommodate him and give him the VIP treatment. The least he could have done imo was pick up the tab for lunch.
