The Rose Bowl is the real National Championship Game tomorrow

I doubt care who wins this inaugural thing by luck of draw.
Remember when Niners-Cowboys seemed to play in the NFC Title Game and everyone said this is the Super Bowl.
Akin to that..

Um… no. OSU lost to a very mediocre Michigan team and did not have to play the extra game PSU & Oregon had to play.

Not even close. Rose Bowl relevance is almost at its end.

The Rose Bowl game is the best bowl game and is the highest rated non-championship bowl game. Watching the Sugar Bowl after watching the Rose Bowl game is always a letdown, even if it features higher-ranked teams. Indoor venues don’t come close to the scenic Rose Bowl. I watched my first Rose Bowl game January 1st, 1960. In that game the UW Huskies destroyed heavily favored Wisconsin 44-8.
The Rose Bowl game starts in the early afternoon and ends in darkness.

This line gave me real “Ms. Lippy’s car is green” vibes

Terrible comparison. Where is all this love for OSU? My Co worker complained that they looked like shite all year outside of one or two games

They didn't play an SEC team while / whilst PSU and Oregon were doing nothing? Tennessee had great wins and more importantly, quality losses against names like UGA. PSU couldn't even get a quality loss.. They lost to OSU but that isn't even an SEC team.

You realize this “light to dark” phenomena happens many many times during the season, right?

Well Professor, that would be a bummer. It should be the permanent site for the National Championship game as it is the icon of CFB Bowl season and usually produces the best games and has the best pregame and game atmosphere and its played on grass, outside under God's sun and is just as old.

Have you actually been there for a game?

This is correct and Ohio State is going to beat the frick out of Oregon.

They do the best job with the field decor by far. I love how lush the grass and vibrant the coloured end zones (and sidelines!) are.

Nobody in the South gives a frick about the Rose Bowl and haven't since 1947.

Rose Bowl should be a good game. Watching the SEC suck so bad has been a bummer. I mean this seriously - Bama needs a new coach. Right now. That team plays so far below its talent level, it's absurd.

Rose bowl is irrelevant

Best for taking a nap. Hence the longtime Doze Bowl moniker. If you want to watch football that means something the Doze matters once or twice every 30 years.

How dare I prefer watching the Rose Bowl game to other bowl games. Who the hell do I think I am. Although I’ve never been to the New Year’s Day Rose Bowl game, I have been to regular season games there. My two favorites were seeing UCLA beat #3 Alabama in 2000 and seeing UCLA thump LSU 38-24 in 2021. Tiger fans were very quiet on the shuttle bus ride after the game. Losing to “sissy blue” will do that.
