Agreed. Travis, like him or not has become what Simmons was 5 years ago, he has basically stolen his old model and improved upon it. A couple very humorous columns and mailbags and a radio/audio/visual daily show where he rips morons and talks bluntly.

The only thing I don't like about Travis is that he claims to do a mailbag but will spend the first 60% of the column spouting an opinion about something random, then he answers three emails and that's the end. And sometimes the ones he answers are similar questions or topics. That's what I liked about Simmons. A mailbag would be 20 questions about a variety of topics.

He's getting better at it too. I really liked the episode with Zach Harper.

I enjoy most of the Ringer University pods too.

I am a Simmons fan but the show was terrible. Like others have said, hopefully this will make him go back to writing more articles.

Can't wait to see how he tries to blame this on HBO

This thread had some incredible timing.

Hopefully he goes back to focusing on what he was good at.

I think they're maintaining a relationship, so I doubt he throws them under the bus.

What else does he do for HBO? He hyped it up as some big time deal with multiple things happening with HBO and all they made was a show

The 47-year-old still has two years left on a rich three-year deal with the network that has him earning between $7 million and $9 million annually. Per that deal, Simmons will continue to develop other projects. (Prognosticators may want to turn an eye to over-the-top platform HBO Now. That's where much content is expected to come from Jon Stewart, under a similar deal.)

some docs maybe?

Jesus. How are you supposed to be an "Everyman" sportswriter when you make 9 million a year

No, no they should not. Listened to their podcast once, never again.

Also listened to the Ringer NFL Pod this week, not any good either.

They are like nails on a chalk board. Their faces perfectly fit their awful annoying voices

They can't even finish sentences because they are too busy laughing at each other's jokes they wrote and jerking each other off under the table

Plus listening to two 35 year old dudes try and convince everyone that Kanye is the Paul McCartney of this generation is just insanity

I was done with NFL pod when Kevin Clark ranked Andy Dalton 5th and Aaron Rodgers 6th on their preseason QB rankings.
