Most competitive and fan friendly is a mixture of Southland and Sunbelt as a FBS conference. Attendance would be excellent as many of these old rivalries would be coming back together.

And ULM fans on this board (LSU FANS LOL) have the worst little brother syndrome I've ever seen.

Really? I've never seen more fans who think their team is more important than they really are than LA Tech fans.

I'm saying I root for Tech and go to Tech games. I don't tailgate then watch the LSU game.

I think he means that some ULM fans on this board take the mentality of "We know our place! Go get 'em Tigers!"

As opposed to the ULL fans who are trying to make themselves something they're not (UL) because of LSU penis envy and the delusional Tech fans who brag about their Cutlass Cierra like they're driving a Ferrari.

I am far from being a fan of the weenies, but their AD was quoted in the Picayune yesterday that he'd been working on the move to the Big East..for whatever that mite be worth down the road...for over 2 yrs. THAT is a master plan. He made it happen & did not wait to react to this "quick turnaround". As a fan of the old Gulf Coast Conference & all those local teams, I am not sure that McNeese did not make the best decision to drop down. They have been competing for NC at their level for yrs now. Or on & off, anyway.

The UL thing has nothing to do with LSU, but of course the go to response here is "penis envy" for everything. But hey, 5 losses in a row, guess you gotta get your jollies somehow.

This is kinda what I was talking about when I said the ULL AD was working on a 10 year plan, while everyone else is on a 4 year plan.

Farmer was the ad for almost two years before they even announced he had the Job permanently. He is a nice guy but a total figurehead. If they expect to keep HUD they have to give him more admin power or he gone

The Ragin' Cajuns are dying

The Sun Belt is what it is. And ULL is what it is. It's a small school, in a small state, in a small city with a small ath budget. But ULL fans didnt realize one thing...THAT'S OK!!!!!!

They tried to be someone they're not. Instead of maximizing their assets, they tried to minimize their liabilities...that coupled with piss poor school administration.

The school should have NEVER went with the name change shite, stayed in IAA, dominated, competitive in the FCS and be happy. But no...

I know I pick on you guys but I am close friends with two of your biggest boosters, I work with em, play with em and love em to death and have had this conversation with em a million times

But hey, keep banging your head against the wall. Yall hate everyone else in the state so bad it clouds your decision making and portrays where your at today. /rant

Bingooooooooooooo we have a winner...........

I'm starting to wonder if when the Big 4 or 5 major conferences finally settle, we'll start to see a migration back to more regional conferences for the smaller schools. The big spread out conferences may work for the leagues with big money. But I can't see it continuing to work for the smaller leagues.

I've proposed, dissolving the NCAA, going to 12 10 team geographically based conferences, played round robin, winner gets an auto-invite into the 16 team playoff, and the rankings decide seeding, and the 4 wild card teams.

The economics of coast to coast athletic conferences for college just aren't there to justify it. The financial hardships this country will have in 20 years, and the population shifts doesn't bode well for universities.

We'd bump up a few of the larger FCS schools so Montana and the Dakotas have a rep, and bump down the poor attendance small schools like Toledo, Bowling Green, Ball St. etc.

The TV contracts would be negotiated as a whole, and games could be doled out to markets regionally as they choose. The need to go undefeated which kills off great OOC games, is done away with. You just need to win your regional conference and you're in. Then there's 4 wild card spots to go to the highest ranked non-conference winners.
