They’ve clearly “ranked” things to benefit certain teams.

That’s why I’ve said before the ultimate hypocrisy would be putting OhSt over LSU bc “eye test” and putting OU over Utah bc of “resume” - two different criteria within the top 4

There doesn't appear to be any consistency at all

1,2,3 are all undefeated

Everyone else has a loss, so the criteria is different. I’m not justifying the committee’s rankings, but trying to explain their rationale.

Utah’s loss has looked better as the season has progressed and USC finished the season strong, going 5-1.

Meanwhile, OU has struggled against some average teams, while Utah is dominating similarly ranked teams.

Sorry but if you lose to an 8-4 team and your best win is against a 7-5 team then you don't have the resume to be in the playoffs

They don't have a single quality win. Even if they had beaten USC that wouldn't be a quality win

The amount of effort you people put into this shite before the season is over is hilarious

When the final 4 match the old BCS rankings identically you will all still bitch and moan

It's just something to talk about

If the logic makes no sense now it's not very likely it will make sense later either

Decent possibility LSU will be #1 in BCS projection and #2 in CFP.

But it'll be close.

I’m going to go ahead and disagree with you that chalk this weekend leaves the top three as they currently are. You could very well be right, but I don’t think so.

Quite honestly, if you feel strongly enough that you will very easily win all of your conference games, you schedule high schools for your OOC.

There really isn't any reason not to if you are in a P5 conference.

The OOC wins (against good opponents) only comes into play if you have a loss.

So you think if chalk holds the top 3 stay the same?

I agree. The committee uses different and shifting criteria for different teams. Sometimes it’s wins, other times it’s quality losses.

Clemson's schedule isn't much better.

Two best teams they beat are Wofford in the FCS and Wake Forest

3-9 GA TECH
7-5 TEXAS A&M
5-7 SYRACUSE
7-5 CHARLOTTE
6-6 UNC
6-6 FLORIDA STATE
7-5 LOUISVILLE
6-6 BOSTON COLLEGE
8-4 WOFFORD
4-8 NC STATE
8-4 WAKE FOREST
4-8 SOUTH CAROLINA (Signature win according to Dabo)

This is not a playoff resume.

I would argue that they should not get in even with a win tonight even if LSU loses.

No way that resume with a win over Oregon beats Baylor/Wisconsin/Oklahoma if they all win.

Clemson's isn't either.

Based on schedule alone, Clemson just as well be a group of 5 team with the schedule they've played.

Teams like Memphis, Cinci and Boise (and UCF in years past) don't get looked at because they play no one. Clemson is basically any of those teams, except they are considered to be part of a P5 conference.

I can't wait for LSU to arse frick Dabo.
