My bad. I thought you were calling BS on something different

Then on what grounds does anything you say stand? That leads to infinite regress which is a common invalid argument.
I called one person an idiot. Go read his posts to see if it qualifies. Other than that I've been civil, especially considering the antagonizing posts by TheDoc and Hendersonhands. There's no need for that and all it does us derail a legitimate discussion.

i think i can talk about this with some perspective as i lived between harrisburg and hummelstown for a couple of years and got my accounting degree from penn state harrisburg....
first off, penn state is a kingdom onto itself with no real oversight other than the BOD...
second, there is a cult of paterno worship there that makes the alabama worship of bear bryant look normal...
third, there are more crooked politicians in pennsylvania that in louisiana (hard to believe, but true) however, they are nowhere near as much fun...
fourth, james carville's breakdown of pennsylvania is one of the best descriptions i've ever heard..."pittsburgh on one end, philadelphia on the other, and kentucky in the middle"...there are also MORE rednecks in pennsylvania than there are in louisiana...

If by rednecks you mean hicks/mountainmen/hillbillies you might be correct.

There are parts of PA where you see as many trucks and beatup hotrods on the road and in front lawns as you would anywhere in the South.

Finally someone that gets it.
You are so full of shite. You are part of the cult and you don't even know it. Your school rioted when a child molesters accomplice was fired. There is no other school that comes close to the cult worship that was State College.
No other school would do this and you would know this if you weren't so caught up in the Penn St cult that you think its normal.

Well this got a little clearer. PSU Harrisburg is closer to PSU Hershey than it is to University Park (State College). We have at least that in common.

Go read my posts before you continue to spew diarrhea from your keyboard. Although with a name like sexecutioner, I doubt you're worth listening to.

Still fighting the good fight for PSU,huh?
Anything other that total shame over your affiliation with that university is inappropriate

Thanks for making my point. The idiots you see going crazy right now do not represent the majority of PSU fans.
You say that is if the people rioting were trouble makers from a town a few miles away who came just to stir up trouble.
We all saw the video coverage. These weren't a couple of bad eggs. It was a massive portion of the current student body. And they rioted because their child abusing leader was fired. If that doesn't make you realize it's a cult, I don't know what will.

At that moment in time, JoePa was getting fired for his lack of control. There was nothing at that point that even hinted he knew and concealed it. It doesn't make it right but you need to put it into context. Those people were wrong, but don't lie and say they were defending a pedophile.

Heres the way I see it. Now that this report has come out, the higher class, more rational Penn St followers(I'll be fair and include you in this) have realized that JoePa was a scumbag and are struggling with that setting in.
All that means is that you are reasonable enough to not stonewall against evidence this damning against JoePa. But before this evidence came out, the majority of Penn St, not just "the crazies", thought that JoePa could do no evil and wouldn't believe anything else. This was displayed through the rioting.
Just because you are reasonable enough to get out of it doesn't mean you didn't contribute to the cult. You built JoePa up to be a saint of some sort, and your previous posts strongly suggest that you think that is normal. It's not. No other university has anything resembling it.

I didn't say they were defending a pedophile. A pedophile is somebody who is attracted to children. JoePa, to my knowledge, is not this. I said they were defending a child abuser. A child abuser is somebody who abuses children. JoePa is this. He abused them by neglect.
And that's just the point. Everybody else in the country knew that JoePa owned that town and the story about him doing his duty by reporting it to his "superiors" was total shite. Why didn't the Penn St community? Why did they have such a drastically different moral standard?

What got completely misunderstood earlier in my comparison to LSU and Bama is that this is a sad fact in sports. Coaches in many schools are placed on pedestals because of the good they do on the field and community. JoePa fooled many people and not for just a shirt time, but 61 years. People, especially this in school, were emotionally invested in him. Right or wrong, it's going to take time for their feelings to heal. It's like the stages of grief. Luckily I'm removed from it and can see things without my blue and white coke bottle glasses.
I've never deified JoePa, but I'd be lying if I didn't say this was something that smashed an image of a caring coach that extended beyond football. Unfortunately, he was fooling everyone. And again, my personal concern is what PSU is doing for the victims and what plan will be implemented to prevent this from ever happening again.
